Anyone interested in this game? I'm very much planning on it. I love MMORPGs now, and FFXI has a new way of incorperating ATB's which i think is just crazy..
The Fishing is also a very interesting thing, and added stuff like Crystal Synth alows you to create your own stuff. Not to mention, Tetra Master..
I was was a pure Ragnarok Online Addict, but i kicked the habbit, and now looking forward to getting Addicited to FFXI.

A few questions someone might ask me..
Does the buying a playstation 2 (yeah, i dont have one..) a ethernet adapter, a hard drive, and the game too turn me off from this game?
well, no.. im not going to go out, and spend 350$-400$ instead i would be gettinga more reliable PC version. especially sense most people have hard drives and ethernet cards.. O.o

Well, do you like the idea of a monthly charge just to play the game?
At first.. I didn't like the idea when RO went Pay to play, i was quite Irrate, but this way paying will cause newbs from getting on the game, and messing with peoples play experiance. also, it will make it so servers do not lag with 5000000 people playing. so, i figure, i dont mind paying 10-15$ to get the best gameing i can out of it. im okay, and they do actully need money to run that many servers.

im just curious, anyone else plan on getting this game?

I got tired of paying $12.95 a month of NeverQuest for about 3 years so the only real MMORPG's I've been doin' lately are Neverwinter Nights and .hack.

I don't like MMORPGs that much. The only one I would want to play in the near future is World of Warcraft, and I probably won't even play that. I'm kinda turned off by the pay to play thing.

I've been playing the PC beta, but to be honest it hasn't really "grabbed" me yet like Ultima Online did. It's a quality game, but it just doesn't have "it" (whatever that is).

Its an offline MMORPG. Plans to make a .hack MMO are not in the plans yet. However the questionarre with the game manual does ask if the player would play a .hack MMORPG. I'd only play if they used the goggles and had the free movement like shown on TV. Why watch your character hack and slash when it would be more exciting to do it yourself...or to other players!

What were they smoking?

I'm probably gonna pass this FF, unless it gets AWESOME reviews. Jay is right, spending more money on a game every month after you buy it is crap. Can't wait for Guild Wars...

Thats how alot of people feel. However they gotta fill there pockets somehow. Not much of a profit for them if they give a game that costs alot of moola over time to maintain.

Not sure what you meant exactly but you always have to put up with newbs in MMORPGs. Little kids make parents pay for them...i'm guilty of that but hell I couldn't do anything for cash at the time. Anyway noobs exist everywhere. hell in EQ the wood elf city called Kelethin...it had elevators in order to get into the town...every day when I would go there to sell off all my **** I would hear some newbie screaming various idiotic tings like how to work the lift (Click the fuggin button!) or which way to the armor store. Hell one ******* newbie actually had the nerve to ask me to buy them armor. I said for them to wait where they were while I go get it for them. I walked right back into the city, across the bridge, and off the platform straight to the next area. I got a message from them asking where I was and I just told them that she has to wait there for another hour.

Yep, that's the new race in FF XI (Google search, I didn't get the beta). Makes it worth every penny for me.
