| Guest Posts: n/a | The best FF game is the first. It's well paced, so you don't have to take forever getting to a level. You get to choose 4 party members from 6 characters, any combination(including more than 1 of a character), and it will always win with effort. ![]() |

| Guest Posts: n/a | ^Yeah. Levels take forever. Thank God for Warmech. It wasn't as fun as the others because there was no character development. -T2K |

| Guest Posts: n/a | If you need to stop for money training then you need to: 1. Train against certain enemies with gold(e.g. ogres, giants, dragons). 2. Sell items with effects, because on the NES version effects have no effect, and they're worth a lot! 3. Grab the treasure you probably left in some dungeons once your more powerful than when you first went to them. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | At least the leveling up system isn't nearly as bad as it was FF2 but nothing can top the (every swear word known to mankind) Sphere grid. |

The only time I care about the plot/character development is if it's either really good, or everyone says its really good and I think it sucks. [ August 07, 2003, 04:32 PM: Message edited by: CodieKitty ] | |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Final fantasy doesn't really seem that great. Not much plot, battle system is eh, characters have no development. There really are much better final fantasies out there. 4,6 and tactics come to mind [ August 07, 2003, 04:55 PM: Message edited by: Marth ] |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I liked the Sphere Grid... its just that if you messed up somewhere along the line, it screwed you for the rest of the game. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | ^ First time threw...I used up all my levels going back and forth on the grid....i didn't know which way to go! |

| Guest Posts: n/a | ^^Yes, that's why the sphere grid is the worst leveling up system ever, it's about 100x worse than the FF2 leveling up system (You know, Gain HP by losing HP, Gain MP by casting spells, spells gain levels by casting them). Final Fantasy Tactics has a good leveling up system, the only problem is that you have a weak character you want to level up (Like Cloud for example), but they don't gain any EXP because they keep getting killed, yet another strong character (Orlandu and Beowulf come to mind) is getting all of the EXP because they are the 1 man war wagons, which is why you shouldn't rely on Orlandu and Beowulf too much. The level system is by far the best, but way too easy in FF9 because of the level up ability. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Are you people even trying? The leveling system is easier than all others. If you need that much help, then just go here for all the answers! You guys must really suck at the game. Quit complaining about the graphics, it's freakin' Nintendo! It's old! And the fighter's red hair/red armor combo is cool! | Guest Posts: n/a | The only way to level up in a humanly endurable period of time in FF1 is using the peninsula, and the peninsula is only usable if you have 1-2 BM and RM in your party with a WM for good measure in case you meet Zombulls. The other problem is that if you don't want to end up running from 80% of the fights in dungeons, you have to devote 3 slots to fighting classes, unless one of them is a RM, in which case 2 slots for fighting classes, but the last slot must also be a RM. There's Thief, a class completely overshadowed by the RM. The only reason to use it is a severe case of massochism--mild to moderate case of massochism is already required for one to play the game for any extended period of time. There's the BM, who sports a wide selection of useless magic, one of two of which will get cast a couple of times during boss fights. Lastly, there's the Fighter, which is overwhelmingly powerful but whose effective use requires only that the person can hold down the confirm button. | Guest Posts: n/a | Don't know about you, but the rest of us are talking about the first Final Fantasy, which is what that site is about. Dr. Unne's site is much better than that one. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Listen, money is easy: The Hall of Giants. It's the area in earth cave that has giants every step, 879 gold and exp. each! The best party is the fighter and 3 mages. The best fighter, white magic user, black magic user, aqnd a mixture of the 3. ![]() |

| Guest Posts: n/a | The best party is 2 Fighters and 2 RM. You can hack your way through the enemies easily throughout the game, and you have 2 mages that can cast area spells to use the peninsula. Hall of Giants doesn't come until you've beaten the Marsh Cave. If you wait that long to level, you'll probably have already wasted 20 hrs trying to get strong enough to get through the Marsh Cave and defeat Astos. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I use a Black Mage (to dish out the ole' black magic), a White Mage (Life 2, Cure 4, and Holy), a Fighter (Excalibur anyone?), and a Red Mage (versatile magic, nice defense and attack). |
