I was just playing SMRPG, and just beat the Axem Rangers without a single one of my characters dying... so naturally I was feeling a bit c0cky. So, in a naturally suicidal move, I went up against Culex.

And won without having Peach die ONCE. Without even LOSING once.

I brought Peach, Geno, and Mario in to this battle. Now, the main reason Peach didn't die at all is because of the Lazy Shell armor (LOVE that), but for some reason, I never got below 60 FP no matter HOW many thousands of time I used Come Back... it was weird. Anyway, I started having everyone focus heavy guns at Culex. I ignored the crystals, as they were to strong to bother with directly, and merely deigned to attack Culex. Now, I did use some special attacks, but I found that using the Lazy Shell and the Hand Gun against the bugger worked best. And so the hour-long battle commenced.

After a while, it became routine. Heal/revive Geno, have Geno use a pick me up on Mario, have Mario use lazy shell, have them both be killed by crystals, lather, rinse, repeat. Then I ran out of pick-me-ups. So I started merely reviving Mario every turn: Killed by Culex/Crystals, revive Mario, hit with lazy shell. Until one turn the Wind Crystal ran out of FP and Mario didn't die. Now, the most damage Culex ever managed to do to Peach was 60, but that was with some weird move that killed. Besides that, Dark Star did 12 damage (Gotta love that Lazy Shell armor). When Mario didn't die, I immediately revived Geno. And thus the battle went on. Without the Wind Crystal's attacks backing them up, the other crystals couldn't manage to take out Mario and Geno anymore, so I merely revived anyone who needed to with Peach and Hand Gun/Lazy Shelled them away.

After Culex got down to maybe 1000 HP, he started Dark Starring me. Whoever he used it against died (unless it was Peach), and he often used it after Mario died against Geno, or vice versa. However, through strong perserverence, I finally managed to crush the dumbass. And although I have played this game many a time before, this is the first time I've ever beaten him.

A couple questions: A, what's the Quartz Charm DO?
B, what does "Shredder" do anyway? Lower my defense or something?
C, have you ever beaten him?

A. boosts your character's damage and reduces the damage he takes. It doesn't show on the stat screen, though.
B. removes positive effects such as Attack Up and Defense Up, which you get from certain items like Power Drink and Crystalline or Geno Boost.
C. yes, every time I played the game, actually. Didn't need the Lazy Shell armor a lot of the times, but usually those are when I go after Bowser's Keep.

Jinx, IMO, is harder.

Jinx was hillarious. You see this little wimp come out, you kick his butt. You fight him again and BAM! You're out cold. Funny, funny.

A couple questions: A, what's the Quartz Charm DO?

- puts a 'permanent' Geno Boost on you. Geno Boost can then be cast again to up attack more. The effects of the Quartz Charm are negated by Shredder.

B, what does "Shredder" do anyway? Lower my defense or something?

- He kicks the Ninja Turtles' asses, duh. Oh, THAT shredder. It removes all positive status ailments (except Red Essence, I think).

C, have you ever beaten him?

- Every time.

a. I have no idea
B. No clue.
C. I beat him every time I played through my SMRPG ROM, and that would mean I beat him around 3 or 4 times (I died twice on my first file) using Mario, Peach, and Geno.
