Personally I say go with the first or second one. I didn't like Xtreme.

Only get the second one for the Dreamcast. The PS2 port sucks. It's playable, but the text is screwed and the loding is horrible.

I'd rather not spend money on a dead system. I'm sorta brand loyal....until I get a job to indulge fully in gaming.

So basically Grandia II is recommennded except for very bad problems with it. So Grandia 1 and possibly Xtreme would be the better buys? (More like Grandia 1)

Thumbs down

That was another problem with the PS2 port. Nothing like beating that mofo Melfice then having it freeze in the cutscene afterwards.

The first Grandia freezes rarely. As for the second game, I found no problems with it. Going all the way through the game it never froze on me once.

Alright i'll go with that one. thanks alot. So what was the deal with Xtreme? Was it like crappy story or just bad systems of battle/magic/etc...?

It's basically just a huge dungeon crawler with not much of a story. Not that G1 and G2 aren't dungeon crawlers, they kind of are, but GX was just too much.
