| Guest Posts: n/a | So yeah, it's 2:41AM and I just completed Final Fantasy V (via Anthology). That now leaves only Final Fantasy IIj, Final Fantasy IIIj, and Final Fantasy VIII (lost interest on disk 3) left for me to beat in the series. Anyone else beat FFV? What'd you think about the storyline/ending? I was actually surprised by how good the storyline was, even though the actual storytelling mechanics were very subpar compared to FFVI. The Job system was pretty cool though, even though there were a few duds (Dancer? Puhleaze...). [ September 11, 2003, 01:48 AM: Message edited by: Tritoch ] |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I'm one of the few who actually liked Final Fantasy 5, maybe not as good as some of the others but it was good. The story while a bit cliche was entertaining and had it's surprsing moments. Probally the biggest thing this game had going for it though was the afore mentioned job system. I loved the mix and match thing they had going on a true way to mack the bosses. I wish they would use this system more often. Bard however, I think the one in FF4 (can't remember the name) was bad enough to last a lifetime. [ September 11, 2003, 02:02 AM: Message edited by: Daos ] |

It was so long ago, though, that I don't remember the ending very well...I'm trying to finish it on the Anthology version of the game. The job system wasn't too bad. The storyline wasn't, either. I rather liked them. However, I didn't like how I had to go through and level up a bunch of skills I myself found rather worthless to get a good skill. As for the FFIV bard...I do believe that Edward/Gilbert is the one? ^.~ [ September 11, 2003, 11:52 AM: Message edited by: Daisy of Sarasaland ] |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I played FF5 after FF3 and FFT. The job system was completely unimpressive after seeing how it could've been. |

I love the job system--you can master several skills, even though it does require a lot of thinking; it's very useful, and also pretty damn fun looking at the costumes and things, and then the techniques. It takes a long time to level up. That's what I don't like. Otherwise: involving storylines, awesome systems 'n' abilities and variety... Very cool game. Worship Faris! |

| Guest Posts: n/a | FF5 was one of my favorite games. I truly loved it. $toss=God's skill. Dragoons=War Wagons. Gilgamesh=As allmighty and Super cool as Rictor in KoL. Neo X-death's background=Seizure generating. Also, it is hysterical when Bartz and Galuf find out that Faris is a girl in that Ship graveyard. It was so obvious that Faris was a girl. That was definitely the funniest part of the game. [ September 12, 2003, 04:54 PM: Message edited by: Tritoch ] | |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I've beaten it. Good stuff. I've always been a fan of the job system. The character development was kinda crappy, but it was a really fun game, overall. -T2K |

| Guest Posts: n/a | The Bards are too spoony to get the job done right. The Geomancers are kinda good if used properly. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I didn't get the Chicken Knife. I was too CHICKEN to get it after the disasterous results of Warmech in FF1 that I only run from 10% of my battles, thus resulting in me getting the brave sword. And because I was so paranoid that in FFIV, I didn't run away from any battles at all. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | You know it was kinda strange for Galuf and Bartz to run from Faris' room blushing in the first place. FF5, the only problems I had with this game was the fact Anthology made going to the menu a pain in the ass and the wait was too long. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Meh, I didn't really like FF5. The job system was cool, but that was about it. The story was just silly. And I hated the oh-so-boring characters. The only character with an bit of interest development-wise was the tomboy Ferris. Well, maybe Galuf too, but you know, they killed him and all before things got interesting. I had to play this game over a long stretch of time because I kept getting bored with it. So when I finally beat it a year ago, I completely forgot what was going on. But yeah, I do remember that Square pretty much stoped developing the characters soon after the game started. It's like they forgot they had characters to develop. Lame. Definately sub-par compared to other FFs. Oh, and the whole "Let's Kill Galuf And Coincidentally Introduce A New Character At The Same Exact Time And Then Give Her All Of His Abilitys So It's Like He Never Left" thing was just dumb. All other FFs >>>>>> FF5.-jay |
