| Guest Posts: n/a | I finally gave in and bought Xenogears today. I'm surprised actually, it's been a good game so far. Right now I'm escaping from the ship that the pirates are attacking in the desert. Best part so far, Lucca's cameo appearance. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I rather disliked Xenogears. The graphics are okay, the gameplay's fine, and the backgrounds are great too. Now that I'm done with the positives, I'm gonna talk about why I didn't like this game. My biggest issue with this game is the storyline. It started out making perfect sense in like Disc 1, but around disc 2, it sounded like it was being made up as it goes along at some parts and at around the end of disc 2 early disc 3, I got completley lost. I didn't know what the hell was going on, yet still hooked. Another big issue I have with Xenogears is the monster encounter system. With the amount of monsters I fought (I killed about twice as much monsters as I did in Septerra Core in just disc 1), my characters were way too strong (Thus resulting in the bosses being WAY TOO EASY!!!) and there was almost no challenge involved. And at the end of disc 1, I was practically ready to smash the game up in frustration. The amout of Monster encounters can only be outdone by Breath of Fire 3. (Note: In Breath of fire 3, about 90% of your time on that game is fighting monsters. The encounter system is really that bad!) Ooooooooooh I am so gonna get flamed for this. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Thats what happens when your have a lot of **** to explain with a deadline....and why the Xenogears folks left Square. Guess what?...they might plan on doing it again as they go down the line of the Xeno series. You are kinda overdoing this eno****er system thing you know. I mean everybody except newbs knows you hate the encounter system in Xenogears and Bof3...and 2. It is practically the first thing you come up with when either series is mentioned. Xenogears may have made more sense if the game wasn't half-finished. The reason most of the towns were closed on disc 2 was because they weren't complete. Hell rumors have it Ramsus woulda been a character and you would have had a purpose for ultimate weapons for your characters. mean I busted my ass in Duneman Isle for Citan's ultimate and what the frick happens? I'm in a gear for the rest of the game! [ October 04, 2003, 12:28 AM: Message edited by: Rattan ] |

| Guest Posts: n/a | That they were pressed by Square for a release date is really no excuse. FFT is equally pressed, and all it had to show was a bad last battle. Everything else was done pretty well. Since it's half finished, and the team that worked on Xenogears are self-inflated egotists--just pay some attention to the parts of Xenogears that make sense, as few as those were--, there's going to be a Xenosaga Episode 5, and it won't have the B.S. that's in Xenogears, although instead of random encounters 90% of the time, you'll be scrolling through dialogues 90% of the time. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Well, from my understanding, Xenogears is a much larger game than FFT. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | They tried compressing a novel of info into a game. Comparing FFT to Xenogears isn't a good comparison based on the content both offered. FFT had some iffy script translations....Xenogears had **** dubbing and lots of backstory left unfinished. Were talking alot of **** that was left out. The Disc 2 opening wouldn't have been such an endurance challenge if they had finished disc 2. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Xenogears rules. That is all. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I wouldn't be comparing FFT to Xenogears. They are two completley different games, so what reason would I have for doing so? So the Xenogears people were rushed? That probably explains why it felt like they didn't have enough time to make it very high quality. You know what? Maybe I'll rent Xenosaga and see if I like it. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Like Chrono Cross there seems to be 2 sides and no middle ground. I like it so far. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Xenogears was awesome... but... Disc 2 was just crap. And I still havn't beaten the game because of the oh-so-annoying final level with it's stupid maze. And the random battles just get tedious. More so then in other games. Besides that, great game.-jay |

| Guest Posts: n/a | The comparison is only there because FFT was equally rushed, not because they were similar games. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I really really REALLY hate Disc 2. Especially the beginning. I haven't screamed so much ever since that evolving dolt at the end of Legend of Dragoon, Gigantic Ursula in Kingdom Hearts, The Deja Vu missions in Freedom Force (Deja Vu's voice sounds like a drunken Justin Timberlake with Laringytis being beaten with a hot Iron) or catching most of those stupid armed monkeys in Ape Escape 2. | Guest Posts: n/a | The amount of content rushed would matter, I would think. |

First off, It goes for around 50 dollars at my gamestop (I can get Gamecube and Xbox titles for cheaper), and second off, Even if I do have it, I'd hardly have any time to play it, but it sounds good from what I heard, and from what I've read, I don't think I'd be looking forward to disc 2 anytime soon.
