I've just been recently playing my first Final Fantasy game, "Final Fantasy IV" so as you can tell, I'm a FF n00b.

I was wondering: do all the Final Fantasy games continue off the previous game's storyline or do the storylines start brand new for each game?

The only thing that binds the FFs is the name.

X-2 has been the only exception.

Also as of late you can expect the same old character looks for the hero and heroine.

Although the best one to start with is FF6. But... if you started with FF7, you could have problems.

I doubt it. I don't think anyone has any info on the game except the 2 ma9n charcters, a girl and girlish-lookin guy, What happened to the good ol' sullen heroes who actually seem to be weathered vets of many battles? The last few have been lacking. Tidus especially.
