Finally got a PS2

Along with it I got three games, including FFX. Awesome game, in my opinion... what do you guys think of it? I'm thinking about buying another Playstation Final Fantasy soon (be it Playstation 1 or 2), so what other game do you suggest?

Also... is Xenogears any good?

I didn't like X very much. Each to his or her own though, I know people who loved it.

X ruled. Pure and simple.

I disliked Final Fantasy X, it does have its moments. I feel it's above average overall, but what can I say? Some people love it, some like it, some don't.

I'm gonna say this: In the game, there were some moments where I just wanted to jump in and hurt Tidus or do something to make him shut up. I hope the next FF hero isn't as bad as he is.

meh, congrats.. Im still working on getting one. I dont think I will be either. It depends on if they make the next Chrono game for it, and if XII is any good.

X-2 - Skanky but entertaining
Xenogears - Awesome story but annoying gameplay

Okay, I do not agree with you at all about that remark. Xenogears has a great storyline (If you could figure out what was going on) but I felt it was above average overall. It has its moments. And I'll admit: I did side with you on Xenogears once, but I replayed it. It's not as bad as I thought it was.

And it's not one of the worst. Putting it in the same category of Breath of Fire III, Legend of Mana, Chrono Cross, and Monkey hero is an insult. Compare Xenogears to any of them, it's Chrono Trigger (Note: Do NOT play Monkey hero or Chrono Cross. You will die.)

The only game i've seen pull off the more than 10 heroes well was Suikoden III. 108 characters and it kicks the **** out of CC.

Assume, for a moment, that what you say is true: that the storyline is great. The telling of said storyline is horrendous. To use an analogy, consider a piece of work like Paradise Lost. Now, consider reading said work with broken grammar, large quantities of missing paragraphs and dialogue, and flagrant misspelling. If Xenogears has a good storyline, it is more than negated by its delivery.

Of course, it's not a good storyline at all. It's at best sophomoric.

If you like that kind of stuff, buy XenoSaga: Episode I, a game superior in all respects to Xenogears. First, you don't get the ridiculously high rate of random encounter. Second, you get a complete story instead of pieces here and there that don't fit together. Third, it has better graphics and sound.

Compare Xenogears to any of them, it's Chrono Trigger.

Now that is one of the biggest insults in RPG history.

A recent addition to said category is Fire Emblem, but that's for the GBA, not the PS2.

I kinda Liked FFX, the sphere grid is a good idea, Learning other paths and all, but Tidus I wanta Punch in the mouth sometimes.
I've Never heard of Xenogears!
