| Guest Posts: n/a | Chrono Trigger was my first, but FF3 was the pinnacle of 16-bit RPGing (and perhaps all). The depth of the storyline, the characters, the mature storyline...CT's close but can't quite keep up. Super Mario RPG isn't even in those two games' class, although it's a good game in its own right. The storyline is too simple though, and the game itself was much too easy. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Well, I missed Chrono Trigger when it was out for SNES (You may now scream "BURN!" at me) and Played a little bit of Final Fantasy 6 at my cousin's house and played Super Mario RPG on a RoM. I instead was more addicted to Phantasy Star II and IV. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Well, I think that Final Fantasy 3 can be promoted as the best story, i mean, as it was already said, it was mature. Although i think the fun factor is in Chrono Trigger, that game was a blast to play, even so to Mario RPG; both really fun games. But really, they are not my "triforce" of PRGs I prefere VII and CC over these games. Neko [ January 21, 2004, 06:16 AM: Message edited by: Neko ] |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I liked CT more than FF6. I like FF4 more than SMRPG and possibly FF6. |

I'm with Tritoch on this one. Chrono Trigger was great, and its storyline may have been more original. Not neccessarily. Since when is time travel original? (Not to mention that CT was more problematic because of the whole "time travel" deal). But originality doesn't mean better. FF6 was just better. You could really connect with the characters. The CT characters were all crazy stereotypes. FF6>Chrono Trigger>SMRPG Blah freakin' blah! | |

| Guest Posts: n/a | In order: Chrono Trigger: Best game ever, best game for SNES, etc. etc. Innovative plot, different endings, awesome battle system, cool characters, cool villains, funny when it needs to be, serious when it needs to be, touching when it feels like it, and tragic if it wants to be. Not hard, not easy, but when it felt like being hard, it was HARD, and I love a challenge. Wonderful game. SMRPG: First RPG, and It's stuck with me scince. I replay it whenever I can, and I never get tired of it. Even the story was good, and for a Mario game, that's saying something. FFVI: Wonderful game..I love it. The battle system took a little longer for me to get into, but after I got used to it, it was fine and fun. The story was great, The espers were so friggin' original, Kefka was awesome, and other points make it a wonderful game. Don't get me wrong, they're all wonderful, wonderful games, but If I had to choose one over the others, this would be how I rank them. I personally like CT more, it put some tunes in my head, had great GFX, and the battle system was scrumtralessent. FF6 is still a great RPG by all means. It also puts tunes in my head, and had great GFX. But CT's battle system gave it a slight edge over the almost unbeatable Battle system of the FF series. SMRPG nonetheless has the more fun, type of edge to it. I actually enjoyed the side quests. And man, I could laugh 100 times in 60 minutes. The dialouge is pure Nintendo. |
