I've played for many hours, and I'm in a bit of a jam. I'm in the Dark Ages, saved atop the Mountain of Woe, right before facing Giga Gaia. The problem- this guy decimates me. Very easily. Handblaster and that lousy shadow-element attack put me at critical HP when used one after another, and he always layers both attacks together. If I use my characters to heal back to the point they can survive another magic attack, GG's turn is up again. You're probably thinking, "Duh, leave healing to one character and let the other two attack him repeatedly.." My team consists of Crono, Ayla and Frog, and that wouldn't be a problem if Frog was at a level capable of healing me efficiently. With RPGs I tend to play them very quickly, as I hate levelling up. This usually doesn't pose a problem until I meet a ridiculously cheap bastard like Gaia here. I've already engaged every battle I could on the mountain, even the Rubbles, so gathering exp in this place is kinda out of the question, right? And as far as I know, the Dark Age doesn't have any places rich with enemies aside from this mountain, which I already cleared. Hmph. Unless I'm doing something stupid/completely mistaken, anyone have a strategy to make facing this dude a lot easier? Thanks. And for the record, Final Fantasy 3 eats this game for breakfast. ![]() |

Have Ayla and Crono use Falcon Hit (if you have it) to take out the hands while Frog uses Heal. Once the hands bite it, focus on the face with your strongest attacks. He's one of the tougher bosses in the game, so don't get discouraged. |

Even if you're shoved to critical HP, Giga never uses his magic 2 consecutive turns. After he hits you, he heals his body. Nice break for ya there. As long as you can get rid of the hands, the body is just a sitting target. After a couple turns he'll revive them both, though. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | That's cause the Golem Twins are the biggest pricks in the game. Not even Lavos has a counter for every frigging thing. They're still cool though. Bluuuuurrp! Copying Dalton... Edit: Monster, I just remembered- there's a Rubble that keeps reappearing when you leave the screen, no matter how many times you destroy it. Search around the mountains (closer to the beginning) and you'll find it. Get Falcon Hit if you don't have it, and with the team you're using, you can also get Triple Kick if you're patient enough- that will really knock the piss out of Giga. It'll be a long time before it's yours, though. [ March 05, 2004, 12:43 AM: Message edited by: Tub ] |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Dalton's the easiest boss in the game-Dalton Plus is even easier. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Golem Twins= use Flare repeatedly. It's counter is a single character hit, while all the others are whole-party hits. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I thought the ice counter hit only one character, too. But Marle sucks. |

I know nearly everything that happens anyways. It would also help if the game didn't make me feel like throwing down my controller and giving up every time I get about two-thirds through the World of Ruin. Still an amazing game, though. I just wouldn't place it at the level of Chrono Trigger. And it doesn't come anywhere near the splendor of Earthbound. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | ^You people CRY because of a videogaming moment?! Personally, A great RPG is one that lasts and is worthy of playing over and over again, so CT > FF6. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | FF6 is worthy playing over and over again, a lot longer, and more difficult. I still worship my copy of CT, though. It lived up to the reputation everyone's rambling here gave it, which is the whole reason I hunted it on Ebay. Many people said FF6 was also a must have, so I went and snatched it as well. ...and there's a fine line between crying and getting a little water in the eyes, which I think everyone (at least I am) is referring to. |
