Well, sort of. It won't be the whole thing, obviously, only a small portion of the actual game. But it is extremely good looking eh?

Kind of doubtful it will be finished, but I don't think it is a hoax.

Nifty. I wish Square/Enix had thought of this. Actually, I wish they would do a remake of FF6.

^They did. It's called "Final Fantasy Anthology" and also has Final Fantasy 5.

That's a port, not a remake. A remake would be more like FFX or FFX-2 in terms of graphics and sound and control.

I mentioned this before but there are projects to release remakes of 7 and 8...possibly 6 and 9 as well. However they are currently shelved until further notice.

That news is old though. Meaning its been on the racks since they were developing 11 and we only heard that Square had 12-15 planned.

Why do we need to remake FF7-9? I really don't see a point, because you can just buy the original versions for like 20 bucks even at bloody Wal-Mart. But Final Fantasy 6? Go for it Square-Enix.

I'd like to see a remake of all 3 SNES games. Of course, those are my favorite ones, but...

Hmmm... even if it isn't a hoax, it's not really a good news. It'll probably end up like Ballad of Angels--somewhere in the middle of development, the company who owns the right to it will find out and threaten lawsuit, shutting down the project.

No, there are no plans for Square to remake FF6 through FF9 as the above poster said. It's just a stupid rumor he tried to spread here.

Besides, it would be a waste of money and time to remake the Playstation games.

Sony is remaking Wild ARMs.

Square is scared to death of quality remakes. They'd have a heart attack if they found out they were paying for this.

The link doesn't work for me, but I did see some information about it on Planet Gamecube. Now I feel like time no longer passes. I want to play this thing NOW. At least they're shooting for a relatively early release. I wonder what parts of the game will be included...

Edit: I just saw a post on the Planet Gamecube Message Boards from one of the developers. The site linked to in this topic has exceeded its bandwidth, and they are now searching for a new host. By the way, the staff member also said that he believes that Square-Enix already knows about the project. The fact that we haven't seen any action legal from them is good news. By the way, one of the PGC staff writers knows this developer, and didn't accuse him of being an imposter, so it's for real.
