My mini-contests plan fell through somewhat. I think the only one of those contests that will be part of the actual 10th anniversay is the memories (actually, I have at least one good 10th anniversay comic, so don't rule that out either). Some other plans I have. New Index Page Last week, I finished the new navigation bar, which I'm actually quite proud of. This will be the first index page to take advantage of the 1024 x 768 minimum resolution that has become the SMBHQ standard over the last few months (it just fits more). Some other plans for the new index that are floating around include blog headings and game release dates. Expanded Era Pages Actually, this is not entirely true. Basically, I'm just making the three sub-eras of the 21st century era into independant eras that will be linked from the index. If you look closely, you will see that I already moved them into their own subdirectories. New Trivia Page I'm actually planning to have this one up sometime in July. Basically, I'm going to merge the old trivia section and my "Chuck Quizmo" relaunch into a new super section. Then that will leave me free to finally add some new questions. That's all I have planned now. Hopefully, I will think of something else between now and August. |

Unless it involves the mailbag or products. But... there's not much Mario to either of those. If I could suggest one thing for the next 10 years, it'd be to get back to actually having Mario information, rather than fancy site layouts and fan stuff plastered everywhere. But I appreciate your work, Sean Kelly, and understand you want to do the site your way; it's just that it makes it hard for me to contribute, when your scheme would hide any review I made behind 4 links and crush it. Hopefully your wider layout will fix that. Just makes me think we could be so much more, if we focused on the things that everybody wants, but can no longer reliably get outside of, say, TMK. |

I have been working hard getting this update ready, while you have only done 3 updates since becoming co-webmaster in March. It insults me for you to say that SMBHQ is all style and no substance, when I have worked for hours on creating game pages, where you can get ALL the information for that game on one page. Since the era pages have been up and running, I have created 7 NEW game pages, along with one converted game page. These are the first new game pages since 2004, and probably the first mass quantity in I don't know how long. I should also say I don't want SMBHQ to be TMK. I personally think TMK is a bit of an overachiever when it comes to Mario Fan sites (i.e. you can NEVER match it without copying it) Now, if you excuse me, I have an update to finish. P.S. MetalMan, next time you have criticisms like these, tell personally through AIM, instead of posting them for everyone to see. P.P.S. The era pages are linked differently if that's what you were asking. Last edited by Sean P Kelly; 07-31-2007 at 07:08 PM. |
