Lately, complaints have been made about how SMBHQ is out-of-date and such. This is probably due to the old, archaic, mid-'90s page layouts and the rather drab front page.

Have you considered using Joomla to rebuild the site? If not, you probably should. I've used it before and it's quite easy to set up and use, and pages can be updated more easily. It would require a total rebuild of the site, but you could keep the old one up for a while for those wanting to read some old rants from 2000 or something.

I personally like the nostalgic layout. Same with Nintendoland, it's what keeps me coming back. But, however, this is just my opinion.

Diddo. It's not completely out of date, though. The site is still producing new content (perhaps not daily) but it's alive and not abandoned. People love it. SMBHQ is doing something right and has been since 1997.
