Controller Automatically Beats SMB on NES

Video - NESBot - NES playing robot beating Super Mario Bros.

A modder developed a controller that is programmed to automatically speedrun Super Mario Bros. when plugged into the NES in about 5 minutes. Alot of people are calling this fake and "just a waste of time." - Whatcha' think?

Yep, it was wall jumping. Proved itself fake.

Wall jumping is very possible in SMB. It's basicly a glitch that takes incredibly perfect timing to pull off.

The run in this video is real and very possible on an emulator. I think he even says he got the button imput from a predone emulator run somebody else did.
The only part I'd be skeptical about is doing it on NES hardware. I would think that the NES's timing might be ever so slightly different, which would throw the input off the farther it got into the run. Further more, the signal has to travel through the controller cord, which again, might change the timing ever so slightly from an emulator run.

So it might be real? A little iffy... But I'm not sure why somebody would got to so much trouble to fake it. Pretty cool if it's real.

I think the question should really be, "Why does it matter if it is fake?"

I've always wondered how difficult it would be to develop a level solver for Super Mario Bros.
