Important Site Notice

This is an advanced notice to people that, after the next full SMBhq update on August 1, I am going to take a break from SMBhq for about 2 months.

I am going to be enrolling into York University in Toronto (to persue an, eventual, BA degree in Information Technology) and I don't want the stress, that comes from maintaining the site, to distract me during this transition.

Super Mario Mysteries (my main specialty section) will still be updated and, if I have time, there might even be an RPC in September.

But other than that, the site is all Jay's for August and September.

I want to update SMBHQ, but all I got is an unending pile of OGs to make into HTML.

On the plus side, my sections and SSS will remain updating as long as SMBHQ's FTP stuff is open.

Of course, I could help update the main (non specialty) sections if Jay wanted. I have too much time. And I crave recognition. Because nobody knows who I am, half the time.

You know, we can work something out, MM. All you have to do is tell me what you would like to update from the site, and we can work it out. Send me an IM or something. Or I'll come into one of your SSSRPGio chats if you want.

But really, anything that doesn't currently have an active staff member working on it (this includes stuff like Memories and Rants), you can work on.-jay

Hey Sean, if you haven't skedaddled yet, why don't you check out the new Mushroom Wars Part Three and Part Five Special Editions that I made. I could use the feedback so I can make any improvements to the later parts if they are needed.

Hmmm... I'll contact you in PM or IM, Jay. I just need to see what non-specialty sections there are which Sean isn't making into era pages or still updating. Anyway, besides Alph's rather... advertisey post, let's see... oh! Yeah. Remember to put a reminder that SSQ has been continually updating, to check it out, etc, on the main page sometime. We've been getting new members like crazy, but we always can use more press.

Well, my return to regular updating will be slightly delayed thanks to the fact that the hard drive on my laptop died last weekend.

Here's some setbacks this brings:

Most of my Era page work is gone (though thanks to the SMB page upload in August, all is not lost, since I have a template)
Sections that were in the process of being moved to subdirectories, will have to me moved again.
Most, if not all, of my RPC scripts are gone (that means no wheel of plot twists)
My collection of sprites and backgrounds for both LOTW and LNSOG (plus some other comix projects) have been wiped out
Probably a few other things I haven't thought of yet

I don't plan on re-downloading the SMBhq files until I get a new laptop. So, chances are you may not see much site activity until AT LEAST November.

Truly terrible. But I'm already doing just about all I can do. I wonder what killed SSS's activity... they aren't even sending junk for me to put up anymore.
