Super Paper Mario Speculation Thread. - VGF

Ok first off, We know that unlike the 1st 2 Paper Marios this one is going to be like a 2D Side Scrolling Platformer with 3D Element thrown in (Like NSMB) how ever it will have RPG elements to it.

First off I hope the Plot is more Linear and detailed like an RPG rather then like the Old Mario Platformers where the Plot isn’t really advanced in the game play at all. And I also hope it has Cities we can visit and people we can meet, that’ll make it less boring.

But now the Biggies for me is the Enemies, What I don’t like in RPGs is haven’t to enter a Battle mode for EVERY single enemy even the little foot solider cronies. And we can already see Super Paper Mario won’t have that, we’ll get to take out Goombas by jumping on their heads and can throw Koopa shells around and all that stuff. But, I DO hope we will possibly have RPG type Battle modes for the Bosses and maybe some other mini bosses cause I DON’T like the Boss Battles in none Mario RPGs their just able to be the interesting.

Also I hope there are Boss battles for Peach and Bowser. My only real Disappointment with The Thousand Year Door, was that when I heard we’d get to play as Bowser I was that based on the first PM I was expecting to have an actual battle as Bowser at the end, but alas it didn’t happen.

Now I wonder what type of Villain we’ll have, frankly I’d rather they just brought back Wart, Tatanga or Smithy. I don’t get why EVERY time they have someone other then Bowser for the Villain it hasn’t to be a NEW Villain? Bowser doesn’t have to be Mario’s only Arch Nemesis. But I know it probably won’t happen, Well I wasn’t disappointed with the Villains for M&L:SS or PM:TTYD thou I feared I might be, but I WAS disappointed by the Villains of M&L:PIT I felt they dropped the ball there. So I just hope they put allot of Effort into this one.

Oh, and I wonder what Luigi's role will be this time? He suplied us with some great humor in the 1st 2. And there's Yoshi to think about also, has it accured to anyone that Super Mario World, which Introduced him, Is still the ONLY game where you can actualy ride Yoshi?

On a Finale note, in comparing it to New Super Mario Bros, it looks to me like NSMB will remind me of the original Super Mario Bros, which is Awesome, but Super Paper Mario looks like it’ll remind of Super Mario Bros. 3 which has me even more Excited cause I STILL fell SMB3 is the greatest Video Game of all time. In fact the 1st 2 Paper Marios kind of remind me of SMB3 since they did bring back the Red Curtin is a major part of SMB3 Nostalgia to me personally. So SPM looks like it could be a totally awesome game, it and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess are by far the games I’m most excited about this year.

actually, you can ride yoshi in super mario sunshine and a baby yoshi in PM:tTYD; Though on the note of the gameplay, I hope that there are side games where you can control Bowser and peach, and that Luigi is playable.

Mario, Peach, and Bowser are noted as the main playable characters in SPM. It sounds like Luigi will be a comedy act yet again. I did like the W and L Badge in Thousand Year Door, though. It's fun to play as "Wario", or thin Wario that is.

Anyway, as fun as Bowser's levels were on Thousand Year Door, I would've liked atleast one battle with him also. It would've been nice. He was the main comedy act, while Luigi was the telling his tale of Paper Luigi(which seemed similar to the original Paper Mario, heh) I doubt he'll do more in this one, anyway.

the First 2 yes but this one is supposed to be diffrent, Everything I've seen from the screen shots has it looking more Platformer, but there are supposed to be RPG element.

You know if you where both Emblems at once you'll look like Waluigi.

Did anyone else notice Wario on the Wanted posters in Rougesport? It's closed he's ever come to eapearing in a Main Mario game.

Yes. And once I got the Luigi badge I wore it the whole game. Then I tried the Waluigi thing after my friend told me. It was coooooool.
Oh, and apparently you'll never die in SPM. In Mario platformers you won't die if you have 10 HP. You have to be a newbie, not good, or just sucky.

It look fun but I don't like the Swiching form Mario to Bowser like that, I was hopeing that Mario Bowser and PEach wold all have 3 seprte adventures.

And my hopes about the Boss battles where dimished as well.

YouTube...isn't official proof, probably. I say wait and see for the final copy. Considering the only character I wouldn't normally play is Peach(cooking sucks...), two out of three ain't bad. I didn't mention Waluigi for many reasons.(of course he's in there, but I only play Wario style)

Dude, he was the villain in Super Mario Land 2. It's a classic game, try it out sometime.

Bulls***. Paper Mario is less "main mario series" than any of the Mario Land games ever were. Mario Land 2 will always be better than crap like Super Mario Sunshine.
