There once was a home computer system called the PC88, released in Japan. This system was created by the company NEC, who later went on to create the very successful japanese PC-Engine, which in America became the ill-remembered Turbo Grafx 16(And then the Turbo Duo). NEC had close ties to Hudson Soft, a development company who is now handed off Mario Party duties regularily. This game is possibly the first result of Hudson Soft's relations to Nintendo - Super Mario Bros. Special - on a system not made by Nintendo - at a time in which Super Mario Bros. was ported to practically every pc and videogame system available. They didn't just port it, they made their own version - replete with new levels. The system's abilities were pretty limitied, but for those of you who want to give it a shot - everything you need can be found on this site: http://worldofstuart.excellentcontent.com/special.htm To run the game, click the menu item Option>Mode>N mode Then, go to the menu item Drive 1>File Open - choose the Super Mario Bros. file. |
