kappas are green...bowsers orange. Nintendo really meant to base bowser off as a turtle...but really one picture doesn't mean that it's the reason bowser's a kappa. Another example of nintendo basing the kappa is lotad....if you look closely....its obviously a kappa.

BOWSER IS A CROSS BETWEEN A KAPPA AND A DRAGON!!!

let's view the facts shall we?

bowser has horns, breaths fire, has a snout, is big and muscular, and is prone to kidnapping a certain princess. prety much classic traits of a dragon right? but then there is his hair, which is styled alot like a japaneese/chineese dragon, wild and long in a line.

but then there is the matter of his shell. his shell is derived from the smooth kappa shell and yet it has spikes, the spikes are derived from the dragonic side of his genetic make-up.

now regular koopas are turtles, some with wings, some without, but turtles none the less. the ones that walk up-right that we've seen in the more recent years however are kappas, the hammer brothers and others from that family line especally because their skin coloration varies from green, to yellow, to red.
