Mario is awesome cuz he's, like, the exact opposite of a hero. He's short, stocky, big-nosed, and optimistic. He's a greasy little plumber, complete in grease-stained shirt, cap, and overalls. He's got a tiny little chin and a big, bushy mustache. He's not Superman; he's your favorite Uncle Bernie.

He lives in a neat little house just across the street from a castle, and the gorgeous and likeable princess has a crush on him... of course, he's way too much of a gentleman to take advantage of it. He don't need to. Heck, the guy tips his hat politely when he jumps, almost.

He's laid-back, modest, likes everyone, and when he's on an adventure, he's not all grim and determined; he's goofing around, grinning, having fun, having the time of his life exploring and hitting things and finding clever ways to outsmart his tiny-minded and way-too-serious foes.

Luigi rocks, too.
