Neglected characters - - do they deserve the spotlight?

Peach, Toad, Bowser, Wario and Waluigi.....do they deserve they're own games? Luigi recently had his own game, DK has his own series and Yoshi has a few games of his own...but what about the rest?

A game where Mario and Luigi were kidnapped by Wario and Waluigi (Let's give Bowser a break) would be awesome. You could play as Peach, Toad and maybe even some other characters!

What are your ideas?

For one Wario has his own games. And no, they don't really need their own games. After all, since Wario got his own games he has never been in another game with Mario since (aside from stuff like Mario Kart). And I hope the same doesn't happen to Luigi either.

No. Games can never have every character as a hero. I say let the characters stay neglected.

Nah. Each character has a role to play in Mario.
Peach is forever determined as the damsel in distress. You can't get around it. At least she helps in some games, though.
Toad's strictly an informant (though he DID have some action in Wario Woods and SMB2) and assistant.
Bowser, similar to Peach, is doomed to be the antagonist.

Then, like said, Wario's got his own games, and is about as Mario-ish as DK is anymore.
Waluigi's too green around the edges for anything big, and he's likely to follow Wario's footsteps (after he and Luigi resolve their "issues")

Yoshi, however, needs to cut BACK on his own individual games. He is, after all, the chief partner to Mario and Luigi.

Yoshi games will not stop being made because, quite simply, they sell like crazy.

Toad and Peach were playable in Super Mario Bros. 2, I don't think they need a game of their own. A Bowser game could be interesting, but I pray they don't give Waluigi his own game.

I love the Yoshi games and enjoy playing Peach when given an opportunity... I'd love her in her own game... she'd pack a couple of mean-looking weapons and wreak havoc!

I hate naysayers who say certain charachters shouldn't have their own game. That's ritarded! Any one of the characters could be the hero, any one of them could be the villian. There's nothing "special" about Mario he just happens to be the one character that is usually chosen to be the hero. And I know what you Mario fanboys would reply to that last sentence "of course there's nothing special about him, that's what makes him so cool he's just your average Joe", but that's not the point I'm not trying to diss Mario in any way, I like Mario. I'm just saying a game where Peach and Wart save the koopa kids from Luigi is just as valid as Mario saving Peach from Koopa.

I wish Lady Bow (from PM) would get more spotlight. She is my favorite, and with her own signature fan, who could resist?

I'd like to see how a Mario game without Mario would do.

The only problem in your logic is that Mario is the ESTABLISHED main hero. We all know and expect Mario to be the central character in just about every game that comes out in his universe.

Therefore, it IS more valid to have Mario trying to save Peach and defeat Bowser in most of the games. It's the ESTABLISHED character-roles.

Bowser should have his own game. You play as the antagonist fighting against the protagonist. Think about it. It'd be sweet! And Bowser could have like all his moves from SSB:M.

I don't see it as boring. We've already got Wario, Yoshi, and Luigi branching off occasionally. No need to go much further than that. There has to be some point of limitation where you say, "All right, who REALLY wants to play as a dainty princess when we could play as a superhero plumber?".

Besides, Mario's character offers the most potential for growth and originality. That's the goal of video games, people.

How would a game where you play as Bowser work? The Mushroom Kingdom has way too lame of an army to make decent common enemies.

Maybe a game where you could actuualy play as different enemies for certain boards and defeat the heroes to conquer the mushroom kingdom, like Sonic Advenure 2.
