Have they been newly released? On VHS? Because I'm old-fashioned and don't have a DVD player. And what would they be titled so I can find them? Please, I've been looking almost all my life for Mario Cartoons!!!

Whoa, most people are the other way round (pleading for DVD cartoons so that they will have copies that won't deteriorate).

The Mario cartoons (and Zelda cartoons, very cool) were released in late 80's early 90's on VHS. I doubt every episode of each series was released (I know that not all of the Zelda episodes of the SMBSS). My suggestion young grasshopper, is ebay. They shouldn not be that expensive either, shipping is the only thing that would be too high I'd say.

As for the series Mario has been in...
Mario and Donkey Kong first appeared in some short cartoons on a sort of variety show. These would be very rare! Anybody remember the name of that show? You wouldn't find these tapes released to VHS, and I doubt you'd find someone who had taped them (but I'm telling you anyway).
Super Mario Bros. Super Show- With Cpt. Lou Albano as the voice (and the body when introducing/after the cartoon) of Mario. This show also was the format for the 13 Zelda cartoons.
Super Mario Bros. 3- Lots of fun with the powers from SMB. 3
Super Mario World- The shortest lived of the original Mario cartoons.
Super Mario All-Stars- This show aired no new episodes. It collected various cartoons from both the Super Show and Super Mario World (jeez and SMB. 3 was my favourite...)

Other Nintendo Cartoons-
The Legend of Zelda- Like I said these were shown on the Super Show (all 13 of them). They were released on VHS (without the live Mario and Luigi segments?), but I only believe 6 episodes were released.
Captain Nintendo and the Game Masters- Gahhh! I forget the official name of the show (how bad is that?). This was just a chance to show off the different video game characters outside of Mario and Zelda. I think a few episodes were released on VHS but I could be wrong. Of particular note are two episodes where The N crew meet up with Zelda and Link in Hyrule (if you count those as Zelda cartoons, which most fans do, there are 15 Zelda cartoons).

Really good advice is to go searching for people who have taped entire series as well/instead of the VHS releases. You may not know the quality you're getting (and you'll get commercials) but the volume of cartoons will be better.
