| Guest Posts: n/a | Mario is my all-time favorite video game character, and I was wondering: What does everyone consider to be the biggest letdown in Mario history? The movie? The cartoon series? 'Mario is missing'? Mario happy meal toys? Anything at all, take your pick. For me, it would have to be the movie. While marginally entertaining, it's just not in the Mario spirit. Thanks for reading hope to see your response-Scott [ January 18, 2003, 01:00 PM: Message edited by: Scott V ] |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I'd say the movie. They could've done a much better job if they had researched a bit more. I don't really mind Mario is Missing that much. Sure, it has a bad plot, bad graphics, and is as easy as hell, but at least it's... well, like an educational version of Super Mario World. ^_^ |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Probably SMRPG for me. Everyone said it was so awesome, and I was so hyped about it, but when I finally played it, I totally hated it. |

</font>
Indeed! Off with his head! Anyway, back on topic. I think that the biggest dissapointment is that Mallow and Geno cannot be used in any other game because of stupid Square getting half the rights of them.

| Guest Posts: n/a | The biggest letdown for me is that there is only one true Mario platformer released every 6 years. Hopefully the rumors of Super Mario 128 are true. [ January 18, 2003, 09:28 PM: Message edited by: Batman ] |

Mario is missing now that bit the big one, and i'm sure we all knew it was going to anyway. The Movie, like someone said above, needed to be researched more. If they made a sequel these days it'd be off the hook A) if they researched it right and B) used awesome special effects. You know, kinds of special effects that everyone uses today in movies. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | The Mario movie. I thought it would be so cool. Turns out it had almost nothing to do with the games (which wouldn't be so bad if it didn't still completely stink). Yoshi's Story and Luigi's Mansion were also letdowns for me. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | If they did more research? What EXACTLY was there to research then? It's not like the Mario series were as developed as they are today. The only reason the Princess is called Daisy is because Princess Daisy was the only princess with a name at the time and she basically looked like Peach, save the yellow dress and brown hair. I just like thinking of the Mario movie taking place in the future of the Mushroom World, with Daisy as Mario Peach's daughter that was named after her cousin(That one evil Koopa lady had did say her mother used to wear that dress), King Koopa as Ludwig, and the Mario bros. having no relation with the Mario Bros. we know and love today or with each other for that matter. | Guest Posts: n/a | Plus, the game was uncoloured (SMA) So the producers could have easily assumed it was the same princess. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I'm not sure really. I guess it was Yoshi's Story. Way too short. |

Daisy: You're not going to believe this. Mario: I believe ya. Luigi: You believe? Mario: I believe. ... Daniella: Mario! You walk out that door, our wedding is off! Mario: .... Let's go Weege. We got to save the Mushroom Kingdomn again. (The three walk out the door leaving Daniella behind) Daniella: Mario wait! I was just kidding! MARIOOOO!!! ... Daisy: Koopa's back and he's kidnapped my sister. Luigi: You have a sister. Daisy: Yes. My father told me just before he died from Koopa's attack. The doorway opens up to many more worlds than just yours Luigi. She was taken to one of them at the same time I was taken to Earth. We've got to find her before Koopa does! ... Peach: I'm sorry, but the Princess is in another dimension. ... Peach: Luigi, I don't think your brother like me very much. Luigi: Nah, he's just not had much luck with women. He's always been jumping from one relationship to the next. Until Pauline came around. I thought those two were going to really hit it off. They were actually planning on getting married too. Peach: Oh, what happened then? Luigi: *sigh* She got kidnapped by a big angry ape. That same old story. Peach: Oh, how horrid! Luigi: Yeah, she was pretty traumatised after that and brooke it off with him right away. Peach: Is their any relationship he had that ended so terribly. Luigi: Well there was Daniella. She was pretty nice. Not bad-looking either. And she could cook like it was nobody's business. But he had to leave her. Peach: Why? Luigi: .... To rescue you. And by the time the Mario movie was made, the basic Mario Fundamental games were long out: Super Mario Bros 1-3, Mario Bros, Super Mario World. I don't consider Super Mario 64 or Super Mario RPG cornerstone games, although they were both cool. The way the movie was made, it looked like they took one glance at SMW and wrote up an entire script based on the intro story.
