Hey, I'm new here, and I've been working on this great parody story. The story is called: The Mushroom Mile: Parody of "The Green Mile". I think since this is a Mario character story, it would belong here. If not, please don't kill me. This is not intended to be a "Join in and write part of the story". I intend to post a page of my finished story a day. Please read it and make any comments you wish. Don't submit anything else here besides comments please. Well Here we go!

CHAPTER 1

“Boss, please don’ts puts me in the dark,” John Coffey pleaded. “I’s afraid of the dark.”
“Ok, John,” Paul Edgecomb replied. Bowser, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Peach, Kamek, Daisy, Waluigi, Wario, DK, and others all stared at the TV screen intently. The were watching the film The Green Mile in Peach’s castle den. They had been sitting there for three hours on the black leather sectional couch. Mario shook his head.
“God, who’s idea was it to rent The Green Mile from the video store?! This movie sucks so much!” Mario declared.
“Come on, Mario! You’ve been saying that through the whole movie!” Bowser growled. Tears streamed down Peach’s face.
“Yeah, this movie isn’t too bad,” Luigi commented.
“Roll on two,” Paul Edgecomb ordered on the TV screen. The switch was thrown, and John Coffey died.
“Wake me up when this crap is done,” Mario said. Mario slouched back into the sectional couch, and closed his eyes...

* * *

Mario woke up, and found himself sleeping in a bed. He looked at his skin; it was wrinkled, like that of an old man. He got up and walked into his bathroom. He looked in the mirror. Yikes! He had a gray mustache and hair, and his skin was wrinkled. He was Mario Edgecomb. Mario walked out of his room, and down a hall in the retirement home, Fungus Pines.
“Good morning, Mario,” A woman said. Mario grinned, and walked into the lunch room. He walked up to the lunch table. Standing there was a frog in an apron. It was Wart.
“What’ll it be this morning, Mr. Edgecomb? Some cake?” Wart asked.
“No thanks, Wart. Just give me two doughnuts, leftovers fine,” Mario replied.
“Dry and warm, same as always,” Wart noted.
“Warm is better,” Mario stated.
“Especially on those long walks,” Wart guessed. “Am I wrong?” Mario smiled. “You know were not supposed to let you wander off.” Wart handed him the doughnuts. “Don’t let nurse Koopa catch you, she’ll raise holy heaven!” Mario nodded.
Mario put the doughnuts in his pocket and strode out of the retirement home. He walked up a hill to a small storage shed, and peered in....

Mario returned to the home and sat in the TV room. The people were flipping through channels. One channel showed a man carving a watermelon. They changed it. The next, a watermelon plantation. A man shook his head. The last showed a farm family dancing because of there bountiful crop and signing. Mario broke down in tears.
“My God!” Old Pauline exclaimed. Pauline helped Mario up and rushed him out of the room.

Mario and Pauline sat at a table in the tea room. Mario sipped his tea and gazed at Pauline. Rain streamed down the windows of the room.

Mmm...Thanks, Heroine. I hope this story can stay here and doesn't get locked or moved. I really think it belongs in the MARIO forum, not the fan fic. But its the mods call.... Here I continue:
--------------------------------------------------
“I guess the past just catches up with you when you hate it. It sucks,” Mario said.
“It was the watermelons, wasn’t it? Too many melons...” Pauline thought.
“I haven’t talked about these things for a long time, Pauline. Over 50 years,” Mario replied.
“What things?” Pauline asked. Mario stirred his coffee.
“Did I ever tell you that I was a prison guard during the Mushroom Kingdom Depression?” Mario wondered.
“Yeah, I think so,” Pauline responded.
“Did I also say that I worked on Death Row?” Mario added.
“No, not to my recollection, which isn’t very good,” Pauline replied.
“Usually, Death Row was called, ‘You’re-gonna-die-so-stop-your-whining’. We called ours the ‘Mushroom Mile’. The floor was painted with mushroom paint,” Mario began. “We had the electric chair. New Sparky, we called it. Oh, I haven’t lived many years, Pauline, but 1940, that takes the prize. That year, I had the worst headache of my life. That was also the year of....Wario Coffey....and the two eaten watermelons....

The year was 1940. In a coal field, hundreds prisoners held axes and were chopping at the ground. As they did so, they sang the old prisoners song, “Old Koopa Kingdom”. A prison car drove by the site. Driving the car was DK Dodge. Riding in the passenger seat was the evil piece of crap himself, Toad Wetmore. With his sinister smirk as he wore his black prison guard uniform and black hat. In the back of the prison car was Yoshi Tewilliger, and the condemned criminal doomed to sit in New Sparky. The prison car pulled up to the main gate of Mushroom Mountain Penitentiary, the largest and most well-known prison of the Mushroom Kingdom. A man who worked at the prison walked up to the window of the prison car.
“This is the new arrival for E block,” DK told the man. The man wrote something down on his clipboard.
“All right. Proceed,” the man told DK. Two other prison guards unlatched the massive prison entrance gate doors, and swung them open on their squeaky hinges. DK pushed the gas pedal, and the prison car putted into the penitentiary. In front of the car were two more prison guards, carrying shotguns.

In the E block building, Kooper Stanton unlocked the door to the cell for the new arrival. He slid open the door, and pulled his key set out of the lock. The phone on the duty desk began to ring. Kooper strode towards the phone, but before he could get there, it was answered by the massive prison guard, Bowser Howell.
“E Block,” Bowser snarled. “Sure.....Whatever you say!” Bowser hung up the phone. Bowser walked over to the bathroom door, and knocked. Inside, Mario, the E block supervisor, was taking drugging up and tons of prescription medicines for his throbbing headache.
“Mario, prisoner,” Bowser announced.
“Pizzas! Give me a minute!” Mario shouted back. Mario gulped down more medication.
“You dead in there?” Bowser sarcastically asked.
“What do you think?!” Mario retorted. Mario swallowed the last gulp of pills and left the bathroom. Bowser grinned.

Very good! But I have a single question, when they were watching "The Green Mile" on rental video, how could Bowser just appear in the couch? Since you didn´t list him.
