In the book "How to Draw Nintendo Heroes and Villians" Bowsers name is listed as "Kerog".

What the heck? Anyone know why?

Could you get a scan of it? If so, I'd love it so much!

(For the obscurity section of www.nintendosystems.com You'd get credit, of course)

That's just a terrible typo.

Seriously though, I think it's a Japanese thing. That's what I got from a quick check on Google.

He was called Bowser in Japan. King Koopa is the American name. Don't know where Kerog came from. Sounds like Scoobie's pronunciation of Kellogg.

Darn! I don't have a scanner! You'll still put something on the website though right? It also said Snide from DK was a villian and listed K.Rool as Krool, and it showed Luigi in a Mario Party Two Outfit and made him have a really fat chin!

You've got that a little messed up... In Japan they call him "Koopa". In the states, he's known as, "Bowser".

Huh, I thought it was the other way around. I wish they would have kept the princess's American name. I just can't get used to the name Peach.

My only point with that post was to point out that he's never been called Kerog.

Red face

why did they called the villain on SM RPG "smithy"?
on Nintendoland's Deathmatch he looks like a blacksmith. On super mario RPG he looks like a huge sword that is stuck on the castle. WEIRD!!!!

He's not the sword. He's a blacksmith. The sword's name is Exor.
