Is it just me or does Nintendo seem to get kiddier and kiddier as the years go on? One of many examples is how Bowser has seemed to lighten up in the games and become less menacing. He is a bad guy, and therefore is probably Nintendo's least kiddy character. However, in Mario Golf, Bowser sounds like a Pokemon or something and doesn't look or sound like the gruff Koopa he's supposed to be. He was much meaner and badder on the N64.

The only exception seems to be Smash Bros Melee. He looks pretty bad in that! Very good graphics!

Your thoughts...

Maybe it's because Bowser has kidnapped Peach so many times, becoming a senseless routine that he doesn't even know why he does it anymore.

But reality, I think Nintendo is just focusing on the family aspect, that their games are for everyone, not just the older audience. Though it does come with a blow, like being branded as a kiddy company. I don't think they changed, I just think we've changed, we grow up and our tastes in games change over time.

Why call one of the greatest video game series ever kiddy?

I'll agree that some characters are not as menacing as they used to be. But come ON people! With great games such as the Mario series, WHO CARES?

Sorry I got a little angry but I find it so annoying when people accuse Nintendo of being kiddy.

Well, Bowser Golf is not supposed to be a game where he's furious. He's a spinoff, a game for people to have fun. He was not fierce in SMS because he was not the main enemy.

I seriously wish people would stop calling the Mario series kiddy. I mean, sure, the games have been directed toward the whole "family play" idea, but that doesn't automatically make the Mario series kiddy. Not all games have to be rated Mature to be good.

Bowser Golf? Not the Main enemy in SMS?

Should be Mario Golf, and Bowser is the main boss in SMS...

I think he means that it focuses more on Bowser Junior then Bowser, who doesn't show up until the end.

Lol, yeah, I meant MArio Golf and the fct that I didn't even know Bowser was IN SMS (I didn't beat the game) should prove the point that he's not the main enemy, since I've also read numerous topics about SMS here.

I haven't beaten SMS either, but SPOILERs seem to be attracted to me.

I really don't like Bowser's voice in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. I also don't like the fact that he speaks, because he sounds like a wimp. He should just roar and stuff like he did on the N64 version of Mario Golf.

Why not just make Baby Bowser kiddy and have Bowser stay the way he was in SSB:M?

Nintendo focuses their market on little kids because that is where most of the profits are. Face it, little kids have much more time on their hands then older kids, and are much more annoying to parents which makes them crack and buy stuff for them, hehe. That is why Nintendo succeeded so much on their Pokemon franchise. With success like that, Nintendo will never have to change their image.

As for us older, loyal Nintendo fans, we're not kids anymore so we're a little forgotten. But we'll still always love Nintendo games!

I think he means that the games are getting easier, making it a 'kiddy' difficult game. And I think that's semi-true, because the last boss on SMS was easy. TOO easy. SSB:M, however, is an exception. Because it's VERY hard to get all the throphies (and some characters.)
Another example is Wind Waker. That game was easy.
My friend had a hard time beating it though. But I found it VERY easy. Especially Molgura, or whatever that birds name is, because it's a rip-off of Volglava, or whatever the Fire Temples boss was named.

either way, Ninty isn't kiddy entirely, but it has less blood and gore than most. I'd like it to stay that way, though.

I've got (way more than) three words for people who say stuff like that:

Santak. Tier. Pargon.

And remember, "This can't be happening...."

Bowser does seem to be getting kiddier and kiddier, i will admit. Maybe that's a good thing, to make room for new bad guys, or maybe its a really bad move Nintendo will regreat down the road.

Violence
Nudity
Hookers

Action,no mysteries or something that makes you think.

Mario and all the other characters can stay kiddy, but for the love of god don't make Bowser kiddy! He's supposed to be bad! He's out of character if he is not!
