You know in PM: TTYD in the Palace of Shadow, there's that one tower where you have to solve puzzles to get keys to go and kill the boss eventually? Well, you know how in each message there's a blue sentence that doesn't seem to make sense? Well, I've written them out and, after listening to the Storyteller and after playing the game twice, I MAY have a clue as to what they're saying. Lo and behold. Complete all seven... You have to gather the seven Crystal Stars to open the door. Master of Shadow and Dark... I'm fairly certain this is referring to the Shadow Queen. Stones have power of Stars... Crystal Stars, anyone? So that We, the Great Ones... I'm pretty sure this is referring to the Four Heroes. And that the skies lie... This, I had some trouble with. However, I eventually decided that it had something to do with, when the world seemed doomed, the skies turned dark in midday... bringing an illusion of doom until the heroes saved the day. Can live again by the stone... I think i'ts either saying that the Shadow Queen can be resurrected by the stars, OR that the Heroes and their quest for good can be reborn by using the stars. We know the stars spurn us... Perhaps since the heroes were not folks that seemed fit to save the world, they thought the Crystal Stars might find them unworthy? But the stars bring balance. Probably has something to do that the Stars can be used for good OR Evil, balancing the forces with their power. so that's it, as far as I can figure out. I think it sounds as if, if my assumptions are correct, it is written from the heroes' view. Perhaps it is a message to those who would follow in their footsteps, words of wisdom from them? Any personal thoughts? |

It just sounds like kind of an oxymoron to me, to consider oneself great to godly proportions and then cast themselves down as "unworthy". Just my thoughts. Otherwise, good work. I love trying to decipher Super Mario lore. Sometimes I like to just play through a game several times and write down everything everyone says so I can look through it and try to find the truth. |

Hey, maybe THEY didn't think they were unworthy, but they knew the stars shunned them UNTIL they defeated the spirit and proved that they were the Great Ones? Also, it says "We know the stars spurn us". So, that proves that, despite being looked down upon (maybe not by the crystal stars, but 'stars' is a symbol for people watching them, like the stars above), they strove to do what they had to. And, in the end, they proved their greatness and prevailed. I don't know... I just had fun with this. I mean, after writing it down, there was NO WAY I'd just leave it alone and not TRY to decipher it. Last edited by CuccoLady; 11-17-2007 at 12:50 AM. |

I put together the sentences and put them together in a way that kind of lets them flow together. Notice that this interpretation is based on MY PERSONAL GUESS. It's by no means in any way even CLOSE to correct. Ahem: "Gather the 7 stars... those of the Shadow Queen... The gems with astral powers... So that we four heroes... When false night falls... Will be remembered by these stars... We may look weak... But the stones balance our power." ...ok. Yay. Any thoughts? I want to get a conversation going here EDITZ: stupid paragraphs AGAIN. I'll put them in tomorrow or when they come back to make it a bit easier to read. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

It's really hard to get them to fit right together though, they're weird little sentences. |
