Your fav Donkey Kong animal buddy?

I'm putting this in the Super Mario Bros. forum because the straight-DK games are a spin-off of the original Mario series. Also, I'm not including the animal buddies that just follow you around (Glimmer the Anglerfish, Parry the Parallel Bird, etc.)

Rambi the Rhinoceros: Rambi's been in the original Donkey Kong Country and the sequel, as well as Donkey Kong 64 and some other games. Generally, he's a heavy land vehicle that can plow through damn near anything. With this in mind, he's probably the most useful animal buddy in the Donkey Kong games.

Enguarde the Swordfish: Enguarde has been in all of the regular Donkey Kong games, serving as the underwater guide for the Kong family. His stab, much like Rambi's charge, can make quick work of most enemies and open up secret passages. This familiar face locks with Rambi for the most useful animal buddy.

Squawks the Parrot: Squawks is the only other animal buddy besides Enguarde to be in all four games, though his role in DKC was minor. From DKC2 on, he could carry the Kongs through the air, and attack by spitting eggs. He also has a purple-colored cousin, who instead of attacking with eggs, can pick up barrels and drop them on enemies.

Expresso the Ostrich: Expresso only appeared in the original Donkey Kong Country. He's a very fast runner, and can use his wings to hover through the air for a short distance, like a prerunner to Dixie Kong's hairspin. Because of his long legs, he is also able to walk safely over some dangerous terrain.

Winky the Frog: Winky was the jumping-buddy for DKC. She could jump much higher than any of the Kongs could, and she could also stomp almost any enemy beneath her, including the spiky Zingers.

Rattly the Rattlesnake: Rattly seems to be the successor to Winky. With his coiled body he is able to jump very high, and can also perform a superjump. Like Winky, he can also stomp on Zingers safely. He only appears in DKC2.

Squitter the Spider: Despite being a horrifically large tarantula, Squitter proved to be one of the most versatile buddies in any game. He appeared in DKC2 and DKC3, and was able to shoot webs forward to knock out enemies. He could also launch balls of silk ahead, which could be turned into platforms and used to reach higher places at one's leisure.

Ellie the Elephant: Ellie seemed to replace Rambi as the gargantuan grey mammal buddy in DKC3. She couldn't run into enemies to kill them, but she could stomp on them safely. Also, she is able to suck water through her trunk and then use it to attack enemies with. Another useful thing is that she can use her trunk like a vacuum to suck nearby barrels. However, she's terrified of rats, and runs off at the sight of any.

Given the choice, I'd have to say I enjoy Squitter the most. Share your thoughts.

Enguarde allowed you to plow through otherwise deadly schools of fish. Without him, those areas were devilish. His usefulness there lands him my vote.

I've always preferred Winky. I guess I like jumping high.

In order from least favourite to most favourite, that's Expresso, Rattly, and Enguarde. Enguarde. Is that not the most sexy name for a sword fish?? x3 And Rattly's like extra super cute.

No love, for Rambi, eh? Too bad, he's my second favorite.
