Who is the best Mario villain?

I'll try to narrow it down to ten of the most influential Mario villains. Take your pick of the best of the best. (Note: The villains listed are the main villains of their own appearances, and this does not necesarilly make them the final boss or "true" villains of their game.)

Bowser
Mario's greatest nemesis, who harasses him even to today. First appearance: Super Mario Bros.

Donkey Kong
Mario's oldest enemy from his construction days in Brooklyn. First appearance: Donkey Kong

Wario
The Antimario. Fat, greedy, and obnoxious. First Appearance: Super Mario Land 2

Wart
A giant, nightmare-inducing frog king. Related to Bowser? First Appearance: Super Mario Bros. 2

Tatanga the Spaceman
The original kidnapper of Princess Daisy. First Appearance: Super Mario Land

Smithy
An interdimensional being who wants to build a world of weapons. First Appearance: Super Mario RPG

Lord Grodus
A scheming, maniacal moonman with plans of world domination. First Appearance: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Cackletta
Dreadful witch from the Beanbean Kingdom. She shows us Bowser with breasts--truly evil. First Appearance: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Princess Shroob
An intergalactic emissary who wants to (you guessed it) take over the Mushroom Kingdom. First Appearance: Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time

Count Bleck
A dark and romantic aristocrat who wishes to end all worlds. First Appearance: Super Paper Mario

Although Wario is one of my favorite video game characters (second to Mario himself), I like him better as a protagonist than as a villain.
So, I voted Bowser, because he's made his mark so well that he's considered to be one of the three most important characters in the series, along with Mario and Peach.

Well bowser wasn't first but he proclaimed himself mario villan NO #1 when he dig to peach castle from underneath and said "that you didn't expect" (i think it was that i was very tired when we played that game)

Personally, I don't see Cranky Kong as a Mario character (to me it's the other way around), but since he's on the poll I'll vote for him.........or Wart or Tatanga.
