Weird habits when playing Mario games?

Do any of you have any strange habits or rituals for playing Mario games? List any that you've got in this thread.

As for me...
  • I like to make Mario duck, jump or look up in rhythm with the music being played, in the platformers.
  • In SMB3, I always have to do a running jump (with the power meter full) before hitting the card box at the end of each level. I did this as a child, even before I knew a running jump ensured receiving a Star Card (the best of the three).
  • In SMRPG, I have a habit of always pressing the button to perform timed hits--even on attacks with no timed hits.
  • When I race with Koopa the Quick in SM64, I always jump onto the flagpole and do a handstand at the top upon reaching the goal before him.
  • In the Super Smash. Bros games, I always taunt when KO'ing an opponent, even when it leaves me in a vulnerable position.
  • In SMS and SMG, I like to jump on/Star Spin/FLUDD spray all the Toads, Piantas, Lumas, Luigi, and any other innocent bystanders to aggravate them.

Name some of yours.

I do the last 4 in your post as well.

That's all I remember.

I like doing speed runs in the first SMB, so I've gotten in the habit of jumping over all pirana plants from flat on the ground, which isn't possible in the All-Stars version because of modified hit detection. I always kill them with fire, as I'm arching over.

I tend to kill all enemies with fire that I can, usually at the very last second possible while running at them.

I don't like to stop running. I only stop for things like moving platforms.

I especially don't like taking hits. I usually restart until I can beat the game without taking a hit.

I always make Mario climb vines before they've risen, so he climbs up over the tops and keeps going.

At the top of the vines, I make him run in place for a while.

I like to jump between the gaps in the hammers that the final (real) King Koopa throws.

I like to race bullet bills to the end of the level.

Sometimes I will stand next to the flagpole as close as possible without winning, and throw fireballs at it until the clock counts down, and will wait to win the level with 0 seconds left.

All of these.

I also find myself backflipping and triple jumping all over the place in the 3D games.

And in SMB3, whenever there was a large cluster of blocks, I would try to break all of them with the racoon tail.

That.

I also constantly hold B in the platformers (excluding SMB2), and rarely ever let go.

I keep a bowl of wild mushrooms by me. Whenever Mario gets one, I eat one.

Total hospital visits this year: 45

I have a habit of only playing a Mario game once every few months. It usually goes something along the lines of this:

1. I forget why I don't play these more often.

2. I start up Mario.

3. I die.

4. I die again.

5. I can't figure out how to get a star and end up dying,

6. I switch to SMB and die on 4-1.

7. I die again on 4-2.

8. I get gameover on 4-2.

9. I turn the console off, having confirmed I haven't magically gotten any better.

10. THREE MONTHS LATER: I've forgotten why I don't play these more often...

That's my only habit, as I'm too busy dying to develop any more. >_<

It's fun to quickly duck repeatedly with Fire Mario in NSMB. it looks like he's headbanging.
In SM64, I like to literally dive into paintings and to backflip into Big Boo's Haunt.
In WarioWare: Smooth Moves, I dance a bit to the music in between the microgames.
I always do the moonwalk in world 4-2 in Super Mario Bros.
In Melee and Brawl, I never take out a Goomba any way that's not jumping on it or fireballing it.

HYPER BUMP.

I was playing Super Mario Bros. 3 earlier and I realized another habit I have: whenever I beat one of the Koopa Kids and the magic wand falls from the air, I always jump up and grab it before it hits the ground. Always.

Same with the P-Ball Boom-Boom has.
