It that really you?" ![]() Okay, maybe not the greatest dialogue in any game, but it's at least made memorable for the embarassing typo made right in plain sight. Upon meeting Yoshi atop Peach's castle at the end of the game, he greets Mario, passes on a congratulation message from the game staff, maxes out your extra lives and then jumps off towards the waterfall. While the slight error was removed from the game for the VC and other re-releases of the game, I think the quote it one of the more memorable in the game. #9: "What do they feed you Mario Bros. anyway, gullible soup?" ![]() During his first meeting with the ghastly King Boo, Luigi is treated to probably the most memorable line in the game as the undead monarch chastices the two for falling into his trap. Whatever gullible soup had been fed, King Boo soon got to eat his own humble pie after being crushed by Luigi in the final battle. ...Yeah, sorry about that. #8: "It's a' me, Mario!" ![]() Nothing will put you more at ease then hearing Mario's voice assure you, "It's a' me, Mario!" upon powering up your Nintendo 64. Super Mario 64 marked Mario's first major voiced appearance at the hands (or should I say, lips) of Charles Martinet. Mario's charming Italian accent never gets old here, even after dozens of playthroughs. "Press start to play!" #7: "You know what they say: All toasters, toast toast!" ![]() Okay, not the greatest Mario game of all time, but boy did it give us a lot memorable quotes. Some of the other recognizable YouTube Poop material would be, "I hope she made lotsa spaghetti!", "When you pinch Wendy's pennies, they pinch back!", and "If you need instructions, on how to get through the hotels, check out the enclosed instruction book!" #6: "The mustard of your doom!" ![]() Probably one of the most quotable characters in the Mario universe, Fawful gave us many memorable rants and some of the more "interesting" dialogue in the game. As randomly assembled as much of his sayings are, you have to admit that there is a ring of symbolism to everything he says. Also: "I HAVE FURY!" #5: "Do the Mario!" ![]() Come on, who didn't do the Mario? The dance was performed at the end of each episode of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show by Mario (played by wrestling captain Lou Albano), which involved a lot of swinging your arms and hopping around. Not sure what this has to do with Mario, but boy is it fun! #4: "Who do you think you are, Bruce Lee?" ![]() Like any (and every) Mario RPG game, the original had it's fair share of memorable quotes. Probably one of the best was Mallow's shout out to Bruce Lee, a famous Chinese martial artist and actor. One question, though: where's Mario's yellow track suit? #3: "Nerrrrr herrr herrrr herrrrrr! This is so hi-technicaaaaaal!" ![]() With the 100 unique Sammer Guys, or making Cudge scream whatever you wanted him to, Super Paper Mario had a whole lot to remember. But of course, who could ever top Francis? His endless references to anime and comic book geekery were certain to strike a chord with the player. Also, the entire Swoon.exe dialogue is arguably the best in any game, ever. HI-TECHNICAAAAAL! #2: "Thank you Mario! But our princess is in another castle!" ![]() What started out as a simple middle finger to players of the original Super Mario Bros. has since evolved into one of the most memorable video game quotes of all time. Meeting one of the mushroom retainers at the end of each of the first seven castles would result in this famous phrase, pressuring Mario to continue on to save the princess and to murder those stupid Toads. #1: "Thank you. But our princess is in another castle! ...Just kidding!" ![]() You thought the one in SMB was bad... this one is just plain cruel. Our fair and pleasant princess cracks this joke once Mario finally rescues her from Bowser's Castle at the end of the game. Geez, Mario, you go through all that work to rescue the supposedly poor and lonely princess and all she can do is make fun of you? Come on, you can do better. Daisy doesn't play jokes like that, all she does is constantly announce her name to everyone. Keep around for next week's countdown, everybody. |

If you think #2 is a middle finger, then #1 must be several F-Bombs dropped on the gamers. @ Peach: What the hell, honey? Did Bowser rape you, thus making Mario unattractive? |
