Thumbs up Favorite Mario fangame

So what is everyone's favorite Super Mario fan game? This includes Wario, Yoshi, and anything from Mario based games. I'd say my favorite so far is Super Mario Bros: Revenge of Bowser. I haven't played too many so I can't say for sure.

Does Super Smash Flash count?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Back around 2001-2002, I came across the computer program ZZT and a few Mario fangames for it at The Mushroom Kingdom.net. They included a pentilogy of cheesy Yoshi's Island games by Chris Kohler that I played to death.

Kohler's Yoshi games got me into ZZT. ZZT got me into game design. That's led me down the road to both computer programming and animation. If it hadn't been for those lame little games, there'd be a big niche that I wouldn't have been able to fill in my life. Funny thing, I actually downloaded those games and replayed them recently for old time's sake.

That reminds me, Mario Quest and some of the other old crap on Mario Fan Games Galaxy.

That's another site that really got me going when I was younger, both for Mario fan games and just game design in general.

The Mario Soccer JiroWare game was absolute win.

Super Mario PC Fun 6 was cheesy, but oddly addicting.

Super Mario PC got me into the whole Mario thing when I was 5 lol. I played it over and over.

I really liked Super Mario Adventure back in the day, despite it being a little glitchy and having a cliche, fan-fiction type story.

SMB3: Mario's Adventure was nice.

But a bit sloppy, graphics-wise.

I played some crappy SNES Mario fireworks game or something with snowmen...looked like what I'd imagine an acid trip would look like. But surely more boring.

I also played a game where you play as Sonic and save Mario. But it was really just based off a Looney Tunes game.

^Sonic the Hedgehog 4. It's based off of Speedy Gonzales.

Yep, that's the one. It was okay when I was a kid, but just thinking about that craptacular game today makes me nauseous.

^^Which, if you're gonna make a Sonic game out of a Looney Tunes game, is certainly the most appropriate Looney Tunes game to use.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^They should put Speedy in a Sonic game, and see how that goes.
