I've played both sequels to the game, but I never actually played this for the N64. (I did, however, purchase a strategy guide for the game when it first came out... mainly because I was bored and wanted some Mario reading material.) I beat the game tonight. The verdict? A good, solid Mario RPG, which did a good job of setting the ground for future games. A couple of random thoughts and rants:
So, all in all, Paper Mario was a fun romp around, and worth the download. I wouldn't put it up against Super Mario RPG or either of the Paper Mario sequels, but it was still plenty of fun. Also, you could tell the storytelling got a lot better by The Thousand-Year Door. Anywho, good game. Lots of fun. Thanks for pressuring me to get around to play it, CL. |

I think the only time I died was the first time I fought the Anti Guy. I was a little unprepared for that. |

And my favorite part was Shiver City as well. In TTYD, the train was my favorite part. Great games. | |

I also liked the optional boss battle at the end of the tunnels (ya know, the ones that go down 100 levels). Good challenge. |

It must be due to some nostalgia from my tweens (or some damn catchy music). |

Personally, the first game was my favorite, even though the next two had superior graphics, gameplay, and storyline. I guess maybe it's because I was a kid back then... |

Oh wait, that was probably one of Antisocial's pdns. Also, Huff n' Puff annoyed me. Also the lack of a post-endgame playability. Also also, TTYD totally beats this and SPM for storytelling. |

I enjoyed adventure with Kolorado, the 'tuna', and the annoying egg guy. ![]() I also thought the third chapter was cool with Tubba Blubba and all. I second that. Such a cruel person that only cared about her own ass. |

I think he was the first boss to kill me. Although it's easier now, because I have a strategy to kill the small clouds before he could eat them. And I hated his lightning attack. The wind was easy to avoid damage. __________________ /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ WON’T YOU BECOME A MAGICAL GIRL? |
