Super Mario Brothers

The Super Mario Brothers. We all know and love them. Saviors of the Mushroom Kingdom. Or are they? Thanks to a recent uncovering (http://www.vgf.com/forums/super-mari...os-3-sham.html) it has come to our attention that maybe not everything we know about these two plumbers is the complete truth. Determined to uncover the secrets of the Mushroom Kingdom our agents have infiltrated the Royal Castle and uncovered files dating all the way back to 1985. What they found will shock and disturb you. These are the dark secrets the Toadstool Royal Family does not want you to know.

In late 1985 the Mushroom Kingdom was undergoing a crisis. A rebel named Bowser and his army of freedom fighters was threatening the Royal Family that had ruled the lands with an iron fist for over a thousand years. Bowser was hoping to overthrow the tyrannical Kingdom and win liberty for the people of the lands. In a daring attack Bowser and his rag tag group managed to kidnap the evil Princess Peach Toadstool who they would use as leverage to get the Family to meet their demands.

Desperate to keep their control the Royal Family initiated a dark ritual to that would summon otherworldly warriors to their country. Opening the otherworldly portal the brought forth two Italian plumbers, Mario and Luigi. Lying to the plumbers they told them that Bowser was an evil King planning to overthrow their peaceful country. Mario and Luigi were a bit skeptical however and so when that did not work the Family appealed to something they knew the two average wage plumbers would be interested in, their wallets. With the promise of large amounts of gold coins the brothers went on their way.

Mario and Luigi traveled across the country battling the rebel Koopas before finally reaching Bowser’s base in the abandoned castle of 8-4. The lizard met them on a bridge over a vast pit of lava where the Mushroom Kingdom Royal Family once threw in those unloyal to them. Bowser explained to them the oppression his people have gone through for so long. Mario and his brother’s heart went out to the plight of the Koopas.

However the plumbers were close to being evicted from their apartment and declaring bankruptcy and were willing to go to any length in order to make their payments, even helping an evil and oppressive monarchy. Surprising Bowser then ran past him and grabbing an axe collapsed the bridge. Bowser plunged into the lava underneath him. Upon the return of the Mario Bros with the Princess in tow the Royal Family declared them heroes and opening their treasury gave them over 90,000 Gold Coins. They also offerered the two a place to live in the Mushroom Kingdom itself. An offer the two Italians took up almost immediately. So began the downward spiral of the Super Mario Brothers..
