^ Both me and my sister are waiting like damn crazy for Yoshi's Island to appear on the virtual console. Aside from that... it'd be nice to have Super Smash Bros. released in the NA region, although that's not a Mario game per se.

Also, Super Mario Kart was released in Japan a while ago. It'll probably be released in the West in not much time.

I think I heard that Super Mario Kart had been announced for North America, albeit without a specific release date.

Actually, the original Super Mario Kart is my least favorite of the series. The courses and items are downright bland, and it's not exactly easy to control. I much prefer the more free-wheeling style of games like Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart DS.

Also, you'd think they'd release Mario & Wario, and I've always wanted to play Wrecking Crew '98.

Sadly, Nintendo usually releases just one Virtual Console title per week, and it's usually something stupid and obscure from the Sega Master System or Neo Geo these days. What is with those stingy bastards, anyway?

PM, SMRPG, SSB. And by the way Val, SSB IS considered part of tthe Marioverse because Mario appears in it.

Parts of the Smash Bros. games can be called part of the Mario universe; specifically those elements created especially for the game (Master Hand, Fighting Polygon Team, etc.) By the same token, those same elements could be considered part of the Zelda universe, Kirby universe, Pokemon universe, etc.

To put a finer point on it, Master Hand can be said to be a nemesis of any of the characters appearing in the Smash Bros. games, and thus would not be out of place within any of their respective universes (in fact, I believe Master Hand has since appeared in a Kirby title).

However, the Hyrule Castle stage in Super Smash Bros. would not be considered part of the Mario universe because it is lifted directly from the Zelda universe.

It's simply a question, yet again, of what elements make their debut with Mario and what elements simply cross over into his world from another.

^ However, SSB takes place on another world entirely, therefore, The Hyrule Castle appearing in it can be considered a location of the marioverse, zeldaverse, and basicly any other universes crossed onto the game.

That's certainly a unique way of looking at it. I wouldn't go quite that far, however.

Umm, but seriously, it'd be cool if they added Nintendo World Championship to the list. It's extremely rare, so they should put it on VC.

^It isn't really a game, though. It's just three extremely short mini-challenges from other games.
