VS ![]() First we have a little discussion about which character we think will win this match within the parameters of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, as well as who we think would win in a "real" duel between the two. Then, after we've had enough of that, I'll fire up my copy of SSB Brawl and let them battle it out. Then I'll come back with a summary of the match, and announce the winner. The rules for this regular event are as follows: 1. All participating characters are controlled by the computer and set at Level 9. 2. The stage, unless otherwise noted, will be selected randomly. 3. All items are active, and set on VERY HIGH. |

So if I'm not mistaken Sonic is probably faster and could probably rack up more damage quickly, so I'll say Sonic wins. |

This was the very first sort of battle I thought of when they enabled Sonic in Brawl. As for who will win? My dollar's on Mario. Sonic's lethal with a Smash Ball, but assuming that doesn't intervene, Mario's got it goin' on in the normal attack department. |

Mario's pretty good overall, but Sonic's fast, and his Final Smash is super haxx. I'll go with Mario, though. |

![]() Lethal?!? Mario's FS is not only easily evadable (especially with Sonic's ^B), it's also survivable. Most of the time, I've seen CPU (and myself) escape a direct hit with only decent damage (No KO). ... Then again we're talking about CPUs here, so if Mario gets - and uses - his FS, it'll probably hit. Still, don't expect the Mario Finale to KO. My vote goes to Sonic. | |

Here's a summary of what took place: The stage, randomly selected, is Jungle Japes, the DK-themed treehouse holdover from SSB Melee. Mario and Sonic appear on opposite sides, but soon settle into a tussle on the leftmost platform (the one with the outhouse). Sonic is doing a lot of spinning and grinding, while Mario is fireballing and uppercutting. Mario almost goes into the drink at one point, but recovers. This is more than can be said for Sonic, however, who rather carelessly bumbles into the river and is swept away. (Sonic -1) Upon Sonic's re-entry, he and Mario do some more tangling on the leftmost platform. Then they move to the larger central platform. A piece of the all-powerful Dragoon appears, and Mario snatches it up. Sonic grabs a Pokeball and unleashes a Meowth. The fight moves to the small, rightmost platform. Between the efforts of both Sonic and Meowth, Mario loses his Dragoon piece. However, mere seconds later, all three Dragoon pieces seem to drop from the sky at once, and Mario is quick about gathering them up. You know what happens next. Mario swoops in on the Dragoon and blows Sonic all the way to kingdom come. (Sonic -2) By this point, Sonic has lost two lives, whereas Mario is still on his first life and has taken only 75% damage. Sonic is going to have to do something spectacular to get back in the game. Then...A SMASH BALL APPEARS!!!!!!111 Is this Sonic's big chance? No. Mario gets it instead and unleashes a barrage of fiery fury that almost KO's Sonic. Sonic manages to bounce back from the attack and deals Mario a blow that sends the plumber flying. This is in vain, however, as Sonic proceeds to fall into the river for the second time, and that's the end of that. WINNER: MARIO!!! ![]() Last edited by Metal Mario; 08-04-2009 at 08:52 PM. |

For our second foray into the SSB Mario Circuit, we're pitting Nintendo's two most notable damsels in distress against each other! It's Princess Toadstool VS Princess Zelda! VS. ![]() Discuss who you think will win this fight within the parameters of SSB Brawl, as well as who would win in a "real" duel between the two characters. Then I'll have them fight it out and summarize the results for you. These are the rules: 1. All participants are controlled by the CPU, and are set at Level 9. 2. All items are active, and set on HIGH. 3. All matches are stock matches, with each participant being allotted three lives. 4. The stage, unless otherwise noted, will be selected randomly. |
