His doctors have given him exactly 300 seconds to live, but he can extend his lifespan by visiting one of several clinics (which look just like castles), and if he can reach the world-renowned physician (who looks like a princess), he can be cured of his heart disease. When he dies after you time out in a level, it's actually because he's suffered a fatal heart attack. |

He remembers that he left his stove on whenever that 300th second arrives, so he quickly falls through the ground to get to his secret underground stove bunker. The only way to prevent Mario from remembering his own stove is to get him inside a castle or pipe, because they are actually warehouses for some of the many stove smugglers in the Mushoom Kingdom. These stoves are all left on, naturally. |
