And yes, the series has blunted its edge over time, but that's only because Nintendo hasn't done anything to innovate the series over the years. That doesn't mean that the games themselves are inherently bad. It just means that we personally have seen so much of the same go before that we've come to regard the formula as stale. If someone who's never played a Mario Party game before picked up Mario Party 8 and started to play it, they'd probably think it was freakin' shweet, especially if they were already a Mario fan in general. Somehow developers like EA are able to release one football clone after another for every year of the decade, and critics always heap praise upon their efforts. Nintendo does the same with Mario Party, though, and they get panned. |

It only sold a few games. Bad news that it was educational. ![]() Also, your image entering didn't work, ahuambachano. |

Mario Is Missing isn't bad for what it is, though, so don't everybody go h8ting on it. I want to pre-emptively remind everybody that Mario Is Missing was never meant to be a game in the same vein as SMB 3 or SMW. It's an educational title with a Mario theme, not a grand Mario adventure that was supposed to hold you over until Yoshi's Island came out. |
