Yeah, wasn't there a secret exit that required you to ditch Yoshi? It's weird that I never thought about how cavalier that was.

I used to do that all the time when I was younger, in order to save Mario from falling to his doom. I always assumed that Yoshi was OK after his fall, since he showed up again later.

^Actually, I don't think you can access the secret exit in the Cheese Bridge level with a Blue Yoshi. Yes, the Yoshi Wings are in a ? Block near the halfway point, but going that route is just the equivalent to taking the regular exit. To get to the secret exit, you have to use Yoshi and a Cape to glide under the regular exit, then hop off Yoshi and up to terra firma. I don't think there are any Koopa Troopas in the area for a Blue Yoshi to eat.
