The game single-handedly originated the kart-racing genre of video games. It also originated Nintendo's tradition of producing sports and party games starring Mario characters, which has since allowed the Mario franchise to become the most profitable and prolific in the industry. It is the third best-selling game for the Super NES, and is commonly regarded as that system's best multiplayer experience. Last edited by Metal Mario; 12-15-2009 at 11:49 PM. |

Maybe it's because I didn't actually get a chance to play it until after I'd already played Mario Kart 64, but to me the SNES game seems bland and difficult to control. |

I'm not sure how I'd rank it in the series, but I'm waiting for it to be released on the VC so I can play it again. |
