Your thoughts on "Bowser's Inside Story" (Spoilers)

Okay, so I finished this game just a few minutes ago, and it was pretty good overall. A bit long-winded, but then, most RPGs are. It would also be really nice if Nintendo managed to cook up a story that wasn't star-related for the next Mario RPG. The whole "assemble an ancient star before the villain uses it to gain ultimate power" angle has been used in every Mario RPG ever made, and it needs to be laid to rest already.

But we don't play Mario games for the story, amirite? No, we play them because they're damn fun. So was this game fun? Yeah. Switching back and forth between Bowser and the Mario brothers kept things fresh and interesting, and it was also nice that Mario and Luigi weren't trapped within the restrictive boundaries of Bowser's body for the entire game. (After about a third of the way through the adventure, Mario and Luigi escape, and can then travel the overworld themselves, or warp back to Bowser's innards when necessary.)

Obviously I don't know for sure if this game sprang from an idea to give Bowser his own adventure, but let me assure you, this is the closest to his very own game that Bowser is ever likely to get. In many ways, the game belongs more to Bowser than it does to Mario and Luigi! We see Bowser traveling all about the Mushroom Kingdom as he pursues his interests and ambitions, interacts with his minions, and reflects on current events. So if you were ever curious as to what a game starring Bowser would be like, this is it.

Worth the money to any Mario fan, I would say.

I just don't feel the same fun with the latter two M&L's as I did with the original.

And my DS is utterly busted.

Okay, forty-six views and one reply. Interesting. Well, now that the game has been out a little while longer and more people have had the chance to play it, are there any further thoughts?
