I've been playing my old game that I just got 60 stars on and over the course of a week have managed to get to 117. The only ones I have left are the freakin' star rolling one that you use the green luma to get to, the 8-bit Luigi purple coins, and another purple coin one that's actually not hard, I just haven't gotten around to doing it.

I got 1 minute 12 seconds on the Manta Ray Surfing course that you get to with the green luma. I was pretty proud of that. :{D

So, I'd forgotten how epically fun this game is. I love the soundtrack and I have a habit of flying around the main spaceship place a few times before actually bothering to go to a level. :{D

Anyone here actually finish the game 100% who can give tips on the goshdarned luigi purple coin level?

I've finished the game 100% with both brothers because I had a lot of time on my hands. Also, because Luigi rocks.

Ah, yes. Luigi's Purple Coins. Everyone's favorite Power Star. I personally love this one. I'd explain a strategy, but it seems easier to map out my usual route.

You may have to deviate a bit. Keep in mind you can always go back to the yellow tiles and stay on by jumping.

Obviously, you shouldn't take out every green tile in an attempt to snag every Purple Coin you see; you still need to come back. Also, there are 150 Purple Coins in the level--you only need 100.

The spin is your friend.

Just keep trying on that level. Move in a circle around the stage, so you end up back at the beginning when the Star appears. Long jumps are essential for getting across large gaps between platforms, and can also be used to get more coins. There's way more coins than you need, so take your time. Get it down and the level's easy-peasy.

I thought Galaxy was great, and one of my favorite games for the Wii. The levels are fun and imaginative, the soundtrack is amazing. It felt like a real sequel to Super Mario 64 (not that Sunshine wasn't a decent game, it just fell short of 64's legacy). Glad to hear you're having fun with it, too.

The green luma levels weren't THAAT bad for me. I personally love the manta ray surfing one, but I can't get under a freaking minute. I have something like 1:00:87 or something and the game refuses to let me shave off any time x{D I loved the blooper surfing in Sunshine, so manta ray surfing is an instafav.

I plan on tackling the luigi purple coins tomorrow ish. I've been spamming long jump and spin jump but somehow to always manage to die. Ah well, I'll kidnap AS's strategy and use that :{D

...I think I got that purple coin on the first try. At least, I didn't have any difficulty with it. Apparently I got lucky, I didn't realize other people had trouble.

Took me a few tries. Like, 4. But they were really aggrivating tries.

But I yelled at the Green star galaxy where you roll the ball to the end.

I got the luigi's purple coins on like the first or second try. its really not that hard, just make sure there is a path back to the start point and try to get coins in one area before moving onto the next. long jump alot to land on as few platforms as possible.

I got the luigi's purple coins about twentieth try, after reading AS' post and trying for another five before finally getting it.

That and the ball rolling one can go fudgesicle themselves.

Anyway, I finally got them all and can play as Luigi-- I'm saving that for when I feel like replaying it later, which WILL happen. :{D
