Captain Lou Albano 1933-2009

The man who played Mario in the Super Mario Bros. Super Show! has passed away today at the age of 76.
Not only was he Mario in voice and live action, but he helped Pro Wrestling cement a place in pop culture back in the 80s. And appeared in a few of Cindy Lauper's videos.

He may not have been Charles Martinet, but I've always felt that he did a great job in the role, especially when compared with the VAs in The Adventures of SMB3 and Super Mario World. R.I.P Captain Lou.

...Wow. Not only did we lose one of Pro Wrestling's all-time great performers/heel managers (with an epic beard), but also a nostalgic old friend in the minds of many as the corny but lovable 80s/90s animated and live action Marios.

RIP, this is almost as sad as Billy Mays. D:

Man, that's a shame. To many of us who were young kids during that time in history, Lou Albano was Mario.
