I suppose this could also be posted in the Super Smash Bros. forum as well, but this is specifically about Luigi's role in the game and his final move possibly being an allusion to an early Mario game. The Negative Zone is basically a swell of negative energy, supposedly an allusion to when Luigi faced being evil while in Mario's Shadow, like from Super Paper Mario. But . . . I also know there is a Negative World (Zone) in the very first Mario Bros. game, World -1. It was a glitchy level with no escape, just like Luigi's move causes the other characters to glitch horribly, unable to control themselves. Could it be the glitch-inducing Negative Zone may be an allusion to the glitchy World -1 from the Mario Bros. game? |

Ofcourse, if you press any combination of A/B+D-Pad the colors would change so... |

Something that's always concerned me is that the US version of Brawl mentions that the Negative Zone is a result of Luigi's supposed resent from being in Mario's shadow in the Final Smash's trophy description, but the European version of the game leaves this out. I suppose America likes putting angst into certain characters. They eat that **** up. |
