I'm not a big RPG fan, so I'd be highly unlikely to buy an RPG starring new, unestablished characters, regardless of whether or not Nintendo made it. I would most definitely buy an RPG starring Mario, however. (The only reason I bought Super Mario RPG back in the day was because it was a Mario game. I didn't even know what "RPG" really meant until years later. Hell, I was still referring to Zelda as an RPG by the time Majora's Mask came out!) So, that's one extra sale Nintendo would score for themselves simply by making it a Mario game instead of another "save the golden goblet from Gandalf the Gay" whatchamacallit. And I'm sure there are a lot of other people out there who are similarly inclined. |

All of the RPGs so far are from second-party developers they trusted with the license (Intelligent Systems et al.), and so far they're not bad. (1 There are also Mario and Sonic Olympic games and that DDR Mario game, which have at best mixed reviews.) I'm not criticizing the idea; mature Mario RPG might not turn out bad. It's just that I've seen lots of games where they use the gimmick as a crutch and they walk kind of lame as a result. For example, video games based on movies; when they're good, it's usually the exception. Also, thinking about mature Mario makes my head hurt. |

First that where we are now is off topic to what it was in the beginning. Second that you could do mature Mario but then where is the nostalgia that people feel when they play it. If they did make a more adult Mario it would be hard to change him back to his fun loved by children self if the need should arise. Or at least I think. |

I mean, Baby Peach played with Baby Mario and Baby Luigi when they were toddlers, so yeah she may be a little younger but not by much really. Maybe Mario just looks more mature/older, or Peach naturally looks younger? Maybe they age really, really slowly like Sonic does in his universe? |

Oh and 10 Luigis and Yoshi's and Bowsers to. |

Another way to explaine away the lack of continuity of the Mario games is to make use of the old Zelda stand by and say that each game is a retelling of a legend passed down and altered through the genirations. - You stupid dog. |

No one cares how dumb it looks. I think SPM was pretty mature, what with the psychotic evil and destruction and all that. Also, i'm pretty sure i've seen PeachxTwink. __________________ /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ WON’T YOU BECOME A MAGICAL GIRL? |
