I can understand why Nintendo eliminated the whole transgender thing for the American market. I'm sure they didn't want another Birdo fiasco on their hands.

I've long since come to terms with this. It all goes back to what's considered "kid-friendly" here and in Japan. I guess Japanese kids find transvestites funnier than I do. It was probably for the best anyway.

On the other hand, I didn't know the Spanish version of the game kept the original idea (although I did figure that the Japanese version couldn't be the only one).

Heh heh, what's more confusing then getting blown a kiss from a girl(boy?) and wondering why you are infatuated by it! Dirty trick to confuse an enemy during battle, making them raise questions about themselves while you attack them!

And at the end of Thousand Year Door that Vivian wanted to confess she had a crush on Mario but stopped because she thought Mario and Peach made a good couple . . .

First Birdo's whole "I'm never going to let you go!" and now Vivian . . . Mario seems to attract to the transvestites huh?
