A darker, scarier Luigi's Mansion would be cool. They shouldn't go all Conker's Bad Fur Day on it, of course. No gore or knives or anything like that. It should still be rated E. But a "hard" E.

Smash Bros. is T, and that's for cartoon violence. Cartoon violence can be done.

Mario gets possessed by King Boo. A terrified Luigi calls Prof. E. Gadd in for an exorcism. They find Mario crawling up the walls of Luigi's mansion, his head rotating 360 degrees and spewing ~~vomit~~ family-friendly purple goo. E. Gadd tells Luigi the only way to expel the ghost is by travelling the lands surrounding Luigi's Mansion in search of various ancient and holy artifacts. Armed with his new Poltergust 4000, Luigi now has to scour haunted forests, creepy cemeteries, spooky swamps and dark temples while fighting against werekoopas, vampire goombas, and zombie Toads (you can waggle the Wiimote to bash the zombies heads in with your Poltergust 4k). Once the artifacts have all been collected, the final battle against Mario's possessed form begins. The game ends with E. Gadd being thrown out of a third-story window and ~~dying~~ falling asleep, King Boo being sent back to the deepest circle of Hell, and Mario laying comatose in a sobbing Luigi's arms. Fade into black.

^Except for the more violent aspects (E. Gadd out the window, Mario puking), that's actually a pretty cool idea. And it's not as if Mario characters (as well as other E-rated Nintendo characters) haven't been possessed by evil spirits before.

There was something about whaling on her that was so gratifying. I can't exactly say why.

I agree that there should be a darker sequel. Shadow the Hedgehog is my best comparison to the level of darkness I would want.

It sounds to me like it would be a new play control, but a sequel would be interesting. I'd play it.

I know but there's not much "hard" about either. Hell, TP was T but it contained little that Luigi couldn't.
