Also, besides Perry, they were really the only power-ups of notice in the game, and since Perry may be more of a character than an item, I'll be focusing on the Vibes of Princess Peach today! Princess Peach is given the ability to turn her emotions in powerful abilities in her self-titled game, filling up her Vibe Gauge and gaining access to four powerful emotions, Joy, Rage, Gloom, and Calm, each with their own particular effects. Joy allows Peach the ability to float around, and perform a downward spin can can cause whirlwind like gusts. In Rage mode, Peach shows off her anger as she becomes inflamed, invulnerable to attacks while her jumps come down as a pound, causing tremors! Gloom gives Peach faster speed, able to run quickly as she wails. Her tears also come out with such force that it waters nearby plants and even makes waterwheels turn. Calm, probabaly the most non-aggressive of Peach's vibes, gives her healing abilities, able to restore her health until she's back at maximum or until she gets hit. All of her vibes of course drain her vibe meter, and eventually any of Peach's emotional sprees will taper off, leaving her as the cool-headed Princess we all know and love. Vibes here an exclusive of Super Princess Peach, and unless there's ever a Super Princess Peach 2 its likely we'll never see the vibe gauge again. Still, for what it was, it was an interesting mechanic of Peach's spin-off game, letting her stand alone from the normal mushroom and flower using plumbers we're used to. Was it a little sexist to have Peach's power come from being overly emotional? . . . maybe. Still, the concept was interesting, and you can't really argue with anger-induced invulnerability or joy-based flight, can you? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Item of the week #1: Hammer Item of the week #2: Boo Mushroom Item of the week #3: Metal Cap Item of the week #4: Tanooki Suit Item of the week #5: Ice Flower Item of the week #6: Thunderbolt Item of the week #7: Coconut Gun Item of the week #8: F.L.U.D.D.
