Well, in actuality, it's this guy. He's not the biggest Boo out there (others like Boolossus and Atomic Boo are much bigger), but he's probably the most powerful, although his power is directly proportionate to the number of Boos in his proximity. King Boo debuted as the nemesis of Luigi's Mansion. He kidnapped Mario and trapped him inside of a painting, then tried to thwart Luigi's rescue attempt with an enormous Bowser mech. In the end, however, King Boo couldn't stand up to the power of Professor E. Gadd's Poltergust 3000. This was not to be King Boo's swan song, however; the royal wraith would go on to many future appearances within the Mario universe. He appears as a boss character in Bowser's employ in several games, including Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario 64 DS (in which he admits that Wario is the only thing that makes him more nervous than a vacuum cleaner in capable hands), and Super Princess Peach. He's a designated rival in Mario Kart DS and Mario & Sonic At the Olympic Winter Games, and he hosts his own board in Mario Party 8. He's even a playable character in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (in which he is able to use any character's special item), Mario Kart Wii, Mario Superstar Baseball, and Mario Super Sluggers. |
