So I've been playing Mario Kart Wii a lot lately, since I finally got around to hooking my Wii up to the internet. Not too long ago I was in queue for an online VS match, and I was watching the race-in-progress finish up before I joined the game. I was cycling through the views of the other players when I came across one playing as Baby Peach, and then I realized something. Baby Peach was riding a motorcycle. In the Marioverse's version of Death Race. What the heck is this? Does the Mushroom Kingdom have no child safety laws? Who was reading through the sign-up list for the race and read "Baby Peach, age 6 months", and decided to let her in? And not just her, but Babies Mario, Luigi, and Daisy too. This is a race where people are regularly sent violently spinning out or crashing off the side of the road, being set on fire or frozen, dunked into water, thrown off cliffs, run over by trucks, blown up by bombs, attacked by bloodthirsty Piranha Plants and Chain Chomps, crushed by Thwomps, dropped into molten lava, or sent plummeting back down to Earth's atmosphere after falling off a freaking rainbow in space. And here amidst all the madness are a few infants, barely able to walk, not able to speak, unable to comprehend their imminent demises as death and destruction surrounds them. Though to be fair, they do seem to know their way around a vehicle. |

And then there's the little dinosaur with boots that has a tongue like a frog and poops eggs after eating midgets in robes and masks. |
