Super Mario All-Stars Wii?

Nintendo World Report

Quote:
Nintendo has revealed October's game release schedule for Japan, and included in the list is a surprise, Super Mario Collection Special Pack. The package was revealed at a Nintendo retailer briefing today and includes a Wii version of Super Mario All-Stars, a booklet titled "Super Mario History 1985 - 2010, " and a CD with Mario game music tracks spanning from Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario Galaxy 2. The booklet covers the past 25 years of Mario series history and includes previously unreleased development materials. The limited edition will be released on October 21, about five weeks after the September 13 quarter-century anniversary of Super Mario Bros, for a cost of 2500 yen.

Isn't All-Stars already on VC? Maybe they could just sell the book & CD?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^ All-Stars isn't on the VC, but all the games included in it are (though the NES games don't have the updated graphics/music, natch).

It would be a shame, however, if this was just a Super Mario All-Stars port (though I'd probably buy it anyway). I mean, come on, Nintendo! It's Mario's 30th birthday next year! With the Wii's capabilities, they could release a compilation that is truly representative of Mario's epic history. If they could cram all three Metroid Prime games onto one disc, then they should have no trouble giving us a celebratory Mario-palooza that includes:

Donkey Kong
Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels
Super Mario World
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario 64
Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land 2
Dr. Mario

(And, if there's room after that, add Super Mario Sunshine and the first two Paper Mario games.)

Now that's a Super Mario Collection!

It you're interested in this, call nintendo. The Zelda collection was brought over solely because they got so many calls asking about if it would be released here too.

Nintendo is awesome at making people buy the same game over and over again. Every other company just wishes they could do that.

This game is going to be released in the EU on December 3rd.

Here's hoping we'll get it here in good ol' Eagleland.

I wish they would at least include the updates to SMB2, SMB3, and SMW from the Advance series. Especially the e-reader stuff.
